Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad review (XBLA)

Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad was developed by 2XL Games and published by D3 Publisher. It was released on June 27, 2012 for 800 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

Off-road racing is a relative newcomer to Xbox Live Arcade. Only two other titles have braved otherwise untouched territory, Sega Rally Online Arcade and the Mad Riders, left us feeling that as good as they were they could have been more. 2XL Games’ Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad is the third competitor in this relatively small market. It pits would-be racers against McGrath and six other racers in varied environments and vehicles. Unfortunately it doesn’t stack up to expectations, and while there’s a solid racer underneath, whether it’s a solid game is another story.

Swedish developer Might and Delight announced this week it has paired with publisher D3Publisher (or D3P) to publish Might and Delight’s platformer Pid on XBLA. The partnership comes at the tail end of the game’s production, according to a news release, so “the vision has been entirely that of Might and Delight, while (D3P’s) years of publishing expertise will solidify Pid as a stunning success.”

Dungeon Defenders celebrates 250K sales with community events

Congratulations are in order as Trendy Entertainment, D3Publisher and Reverb Publishing have announced that Dungeon Defenders is a runaway success with over 250,000 sales total on all three platforms including XBLA, 200,000 of which were from PC sales alone. To celebrate, Trendy Entertainment have revealed one of its many plans to continue to support the game across all platforms, with free, weekly community events for PS3 and Xbox 360 players. Starting now till the end of the year, these events will allow gamers to play special game modes with the devs and have a chance to win unique loot found nowhere else. The event schedule and instructions on how to join is posted on four wallpapers one for each character class which you can either download for yourself here or view in the gallery after the jump.
