Everybody loves Double Dragon, brothers Billy (sometimes even Bimmy) & Jimmy Lee are coming back to XBLA in a neon-infused edition. Entitled Double Dragon: Neon and developed by WayForward who are no strangers to 2D-style games from last year’s Bloodrayne: Betrayal and Aliens: Infestation on the Nintendo DS. The 80s motif is heavy in the game from the lifebars to the high fives. The plot of the game involves Marian being kidnapped by an enemy called Skullmageddon which is pretty amazing. In with the 80s presentation is the music is filled with synth and guitar solos and you’ll be able to unlock more songs to beat up people in. Check out some screenshots and concept art after the jump and blast your Poison album as you wait for this to come out in July.

Brain Slap Studio is looking to bring its debut title, Hexodius, to Xbox Live Arcade, according to a tweet by the indie developer. “We’re targetting [sic] XBLA,” reads the studio’s Twitter response to a question by XBLA Fans reader @lifelower as to whether the twin stick shooter is being developed for XBLIG or XBLA.
Responding to our inquiry about the PC and Xbox title’s progress towards an XBLA release, Brain Slap designer Pascal Biren said that the studio has yet to speak with any publishers. For now they are focusing on just making the game “in an indie spirit” and are planning to show it publicly before seeking out a publishing partner to help bring the title to Arcade.
After Hothead Games went on to work on DeathSpank, the future was uncertain as to whether we would get Episode 3 of Penny Arcade Adventures. The first two weren’t the best-selling titles on XBLA but they did garner a great cult audience. Now Zeboyd, creators of Cthulha Saves The World and Breath of Death VII on XBLIG, have come to save the property with On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 for XBLIG, iOS, PC, Mac, and Android.
In an interview with Joystiq, Robert Boyd of Zeboyd talked about how the project came about from a user’s Penny Arcade forum post, stating they should use an indie developer and recommending them. He contacted Penny Arcade to see if they were interested, unsure if he heard a response but Robert Khoo responded and things got started.
If you’ve ever played any of Zeboyd’s games, the style is a bit of a change from what Hothead does. It’s more pixelated and 8-bit in the style of old Final Fantasy. The gameplay will be very similar but still retain that old Penny Arcade humor. If you’re at PAX East this year, it’ll be showing on the Expo Floor and check out the interview below and some screenshots after the jump.

Ever since the announcement that Capybara Games won the IGF XBLA prize for Super T.I.M.E. Force, we haven’t seen much beyond the trailer that debuted four months prior. But now we have three brand new screenshots and it still looks like insanity made with a great pixel style. The gameplay does look pretty insane and still begs questions, like are you controlling an army of characters and are able to pick one out of each? Is that all multiplayer going on? Capybara will be showing the game off at PAX East this year and XBLA Fans will have their hands all over it. Catch the other screenshots after the jump.

The Worms Ultimate Mayhem Customization Pack will be releasing one week from today on March 28, developer Team17 has announced. Customization DLC is nothing without crazy hats, and that’s exactly what players will get with the download. Of course, that’s not all they’ll receive for their 400 MSP: gloves, speech-banks, gravestones, new payloads for the Weapons Factory and a trio of XBL achievements will also be part of the deal.
Whatever could this image imply? Signal Studios who has developed two games in their Toy Soldiers series is hinting at something with this above image courtesy of our good …

Last week, Zen Studios filled Game Informer in on the details to the newest Marvel Pinball tables for Pinball FX2; however we finally have a look at gameplay footage from each table. The newest four pack is comprised of The Avengers, Infinity Gauntlet, Fear Itself and World War Hulk. In our Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue review, we praised the production values but did question if the team had stopped taking risks. After Zen Studio’s most recent table, Epic Quest, which seamlessly integrated RPG mechanics into the pinball experience that fear has mostly been relieved.
We had the opportunity to speak briefly with Zen Studio’s VP of Marketing, Mel Kirk at GDC. He mentioned that the team was constantly working on ways to improve and mentioned players should be inline for more of a cinematic experience with these tables than past ones. Mel mentioned that Moon Knight was the first time they had brought this cinematic experience to Marvel Pinball and that it was something they truly felt worked well within the game. We’re looking forward to getting more details on the tables, like an official date. Given the tie-in, it seems likely that it is planned to coincide or lead into the upcoming Avengers film. For now these screenshots will have to tide us over. One can’t help but notice the Avengers table is conspicuously missing…
The multi-dimensional Quantum Conundrum just became an even heavier hitter. The new heavy dimension makes everything much heavier, and gives the environment a metallic appearance that doesn’t look safe for small children. This dimension seems to be the opposite of the extremely light and cuddly fluffy dimension. Check out the heaviness in the screenshots after the jump, which are thankfully a lot less pink than the fluffy dimension. Get ready to explore this dimension and many others when Quantum Conundrum releases summer 2012. Read More
