No Andrew this week so we brought on PSNFans writer and new podcast producer of the PSNFancast, Josiah Renaudin. He joins us for one of our longest new releases/what we’ve been playing discussions possibly ever, in which we talk about Bloodforge, Deep Black: Episode 1, The Walking Dead and the Hybrid beta.
Perry of course brings all the big news stories, followed by Todd Talk and a twitter topic. You still have another week to play the Remember The Days game, which is Heavy Weapon, and send your thoughts to us on twitter.
Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast on iTunes. We appreciate it! Check us out on twitter (@XBLAFans) where you can win codes for games, give us feedback or just ask a question. We are also now on Stitcher, so you can stream the show on your smartphone, give it a go!

[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEpisode59.mp3[/podcast]The Walking Dead was developed and published by Telltale Games. It was released April 27, 2012 for 400 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.
Zombie games: They’re nothing new; some may even argue they’re overdone. We even have our fair share on XBLA already. The vast majority of games featuring zombies use the shambling undead as cannon fodder, the thing players need to mow down with a machine gun to progress.
With The Walking Dead, Telltale Games looks to do something a little different. Much like the comic series it’s based on, this isn’t about killing all zombies in your way, it’s a story about people. What do we do when society collapses and the dead come back to life? It’s a question that’s been the crux of some of the best zombie movies, but one that often falls by the wayside when it comes to games.
So if you’re expecting a game where you must survive the zombie apocalypse by aiming down the sights of your pistol and getting some headshots, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The Walking Dead is a fairly traditional point and click adventure game; while you do have direct control over the main character most of your interaction with the world will be through an onscreen cursor or making dialogue choices. The regular crew of four gets back together for the first time in a few weeks, and as such it’s a bit of a bumper episode. We kick things off with Perry telling us about Bloodforge, he has some mixed feelings about it. Then it’s onto this little game that came out last week, you might have heard about it, Trials Evolution. We briefly talk about Fez again but there’s not too much new to say on that front.
Perry brings all the news as usual, then Todd Talk is more like a question than a discussion. Andrew rounds things out with twitter questions and the remember the days game, this weeks game is Heavy Weapon, you’ve got two weeks to try it out and let use know what you think!

[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEp58.mp3[/podcast]TopWare Interactive have just announced Planets at War, a game described as “a strategic interplanetary conflict simulator”, developed by Targem Games. They have not released much information but their press release did state that the game will feature four playable races for players to choose from. If, like many of the XBLAFans staff, you are eagerly anticipating the release of the 2D MOBA game Awesomenauts then you may want to take a good long look at the screens below. Ronimo have just posted these images on their Facebook page of the three maps that will ship with the game in two weeks.
The three maps are Sorana, AI Station 404 and Ribbit IV. Aside from having different layouts and visual styles each map also has a unique element such as AI Station’s anti-gravity field which will allow players to float around the area. AI Station 404 also has “Creep Releasers” on each side of the map, allowing teams to reinforce their attack. Ribbit IV has a “Solarboss” on each side of the map, which is an extra tough neutral enemy for teams to tackle and reap the rewards if they succeed. In the center of the Sorona map there is a giant worm who has taken up residence in a mineshaft, players can call on it by pressing a button on the map, causing trouble for anyone in the vicinity.
You can check out the maps for yourself below and be sure to head over to the Awesomenauts Facebook page for more info. Awesomenauts will be released on May 2 for 800 MSP. Read More
While we did record a regular show last week in addition to our three PAX specials, it got lost in the dark recesses of my hard drive never to be heard from again. So here we are back with a regular show, minus one Andrew Crews. Myself, Perry and Todd struggle on without him though and discuss some of the big releases from the past week. We hit on The Splatters and Skullgirls but the bulk of the game talk goes to Fez, don’t worry though there’s no spoilers!
Perry rushes through what little news there is before taking the opportunity to talk about some of his favourite XBLA games he saw at PAX.

[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastPaxEast2012.mp3[/podcast]No Todd this week, but myself, Perry, Andrew and special guest Shawn Saris get by without him. I talk briefly about Wrecked: Revenge Revisted, while we all talk for a good while about South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge. If that’s not enough, you can check out Andrew’s review for more in depth details.
Perry brings the news as always, which this week includes some high profile release dates. Andrew finishes things up with a twitter question and telling us about the new Remember the Days game, which is Gripshift. He won’t be here next week so you’ve got two weeks to play it and share your thoughts on twitter.
