Twisted Pixel, developers of ‘Splosion Man, Comic Jumper and the upcoming Ms ‘Splosion Man are looking for extras for a video shoot, according to a posting on Craigs List. Anyone who has played ‘Splosion Man or Comic Jumper will know Twisted Pixel love themselves some crazy FMV, so it’s a somewhat safe assumption that this video shoot is for something along those lines.
The posting mentions that the shoot is for a game that has yet to be announced, so while one might assume it’s for Ms ‘Splosion Man it could be for something new. Perhaps a Comic Jumper sequel, that game had quite a bit of FMV after all, or could this be another new IP?
If you’d like to join in on the fun you can find the details and link to the posting below. The main details you should know however; the shoot will be at 10:45am this Saturday January 29th at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas. If you can get there then you’ve got a chance of being in the game! Read More

Just when you thought it was safe to let your scientists leave the house, a new terror has been let loose on the world! On December 2, 2010 Twisted Pixel was pleased to announced that one of their subsidiaries “Big Science” had finally captured the spontaneously explosive creature known as “Splosion Man”. The scientists speak with an air of confidence now that this troubled time is over with, Dr. Wilson had this to say, “Even if some sort of newer, stronger, better threat were created, our newest security measures and fiendish traps would be more than enough to contain it. We’ve made incredible advances in our technology over this past year…. Not that there would ever be a use for any of it.”
Complete story after the jump, if you dare!
Really there isn’t much more to say than that. You can pick up your Comic Jumper soundtrack over at Twisted Pixel’s site for the large price of …

As a side-scrolling beat ’em up come shooter, Comic Jumper had my attention early. The overbearing presentation and loud bickering characters screamed at me to pay attention and marvel at the developers ‘funny’ self-referential nature.
But aside from a few humorous early moments, Comic Jumper failed spectacularly to endear itself to me. The appalling attitudes towards women and the irritating gameplay undermined any potential the concept had. Even the basic premise of parodying comic books fell flat as Twisted Pixel resorted to stone-age attitudes towards the medium.
I found so much wrong with this game that it was a struggle to put my thoughts in order. From the combat mechanics to the writing and characters there was little worthy of praise. Comic Jumper’s soul is about as bitter and relentlessly anti-female as anything I’ve had the displeasure to experience.
I must admit that I was initially intrigued by the concept. Playing as Captain Smileyhead you blast your way through the opening level only to find that your comic has been cancelled (done through a curious live-action sequence). To rectify the situation you must jump into other comics, guest-starring and raising your profile once again to reclaim your status as worthy comic book hero.

If there is one thing in particular that Comic Jumper exceeds at, it is humor. This isn’t to say the rest of the game doesn’t shine, but nothing can quite match the witty banter of the colorful cast of characters Twisted Pixel has created. It seems the team behind the game has realized this, as they have unleashed the entire cast of personalities on twitter. You can follow the humorous happenings of the Comic Jumper universe here.
If you’re on the fence about picking up the game, make sure to check out our review. Not to mention, you could get lucky and win a copy of Comic Jumper for free.
Oh, Twisted Pixel also sent us over what might be the most annoying ringtone I have ever heard, which you can download below:
