Over the years, we’ve seen many video games turn to Movies or TV shows. From Pac-Man to Sonic to Viewtiful Joe at one point, some of these characters are some we want to see on our small screen when we get home from work or school. So for today’s Friday Top Five, we’re taking some XBLA games and seeing how they would turn out as Movies or TV shows.
XBLA Primer is where we catalog XBLA games from a certain developer and give you the 411 on all their games. We also tap a little into their backstory and why they make great XBLA games
Michael Wilford and co. said that their new studio would focus on the digital market and XBLA was something they always thought would take off. For simplicity’s sake and so that we don’t leech from them, each of the links below will take you to their site. Remember, these are awards, so they’re given out to the player by completing criteria in each game. For more detail hit up the Avatar Awards site. You can also follow them on Twitter at @AvatarAwards360.
We’ve got a big backlog to fill between the AvatarAwards and things that pre-date their site, so this one’s a lot longer than usual. Hit the jump to see the list. Also, let us know if we missed one.

Twisted Pixel, developers of ‘Splosion Man, Comic Jumper and the upcoming Ms ‘Splosion Man are looking for extras for a video shoot, according to a posting on Craigs List. Anyone who has played ‘Splosion Man or Comic Jumper will know Twisted Pixel love themselves some crazy FMV, so it’s a somewhat safe assumption that this video shoot is for something along those lines.
The posting mentions that the shoot is for a game that has yet to be announced, so while one might assume it’s for Ms ‘Splosion Man it could be for something new. Perhaps a Comic Jumper sequel, that game had quite a bit of FMV after all, or could this be another new IP?
If you’d like to join in on the fun you can find the details and link to the posting below. The main details you should know however; the shoot will be at 10:45am this Saturday January 29th at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas. If you can get there then you’ve got a chance of being in the game! Read More
