Every once in a while, a game comes along with a concept so brilliant you can’t believe no one’s thought of it before. Taking the idea of competitive thievery and applying a fun, cartoonish art style, Dollar Dash from Candygun Games and Kalypso Media seeks to offer a fresh twist on classic arcade gameplay.
Dollar Dash is a top-down action game pitting four thieves against each other in three different game modes with one simple goal: steal everything in sight. You’ll accomplish this task by running, shooting, laying traps, and creating all kinds of general mayhem to grab as much cash as possible and prevent your opponents from doing the same. Built primarily as a multiplayer game, Dollar Dash has no traditional single-player component, but offers four-player competitive modes both locally and over Xbox Live.
The latest in a series of Dollar Dash promotional trailers from Kalypso Media Digital has surfaced, revealing the frenzied game modes you can expect to find. For the uninitiated, Dollar Dash is a top-down multiplayer action title from Candygun Games, pitting colorful pilferers against one another in a series of high-stakes hijinks to see who can make off with the most cash. Up to this point, we’ve taken a look at a few of the maps in Dollar Dash, the customizable costumes each character can don, and the creative and fun weaponry and gadgets each thief can employ in pursuit of the purse strings.
The chaotic gameplay unfolds in several game modes, showcased in the trailer after the jump. Among them are Save the Safe, in which you’ll use your wits to grab and hold the safe, keeping it out of your opponents’ reach while they try to steal your victory. Hit ‘n’ Run is an all-out brawl where thieves on the offensive must knock out the opposition through any means necessary. Lastly, Dollar Dash mode requires you to outfit an arsenal of crazy gadgetry as you try to pilfer the most cash, stashing it in your getaway car.
Dollar Dash is coming to Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, March 6. Be sure to check back with us next week, for our official review.
Professional thievery is a risky business. Sometimes you’ve got to blend in, pop on a beaglepuss and saunter away like a mustachioed norm-y. In the case of Dollar Dash, sometimes you’ve got to dress in elaborate costumes, sporting a viking helmet with unkempt beard, or a king’s crown and a pair of stunner-shades. Because prowling the night dressed as a knight is the last thing they’d expect.
While these may not be the best disguises, Kalypso Media Digital has debuted a new trailer revealing the many customizable ensembles in the forthcoming multiplayer title developed by Candygun Games. In Dollar Dash, up to four players will go for broke as would-be thieves, using an array of weapons and hijinks to grab the cash and stump the competition. Check out the Customization trailer after the jump, and expect Dollar Dash to sneak onto Xbox Live Arcade on March 6, for 800 MSP.

Dead Block was developed by Candygun Games. It was released on July 6, 2011 and retails for 800MSP. A copy of the game was provided for review purposes.
Dead Block is one of the rare games that truly defies a proper description. It has a lot of familiar gameplay elements put together in a truly unique way. Zombies and Rock n’ Roll are the two main themes of this game. It is set in the 1950’s and the new genre of Rock n’ Roll has somehow raised the dead back to life. Huh, guess all those preachers were right. Rock n’ Roll really is of the Devil.
You take control of three survivors who each have a different set of skills. The idea is to rummage through whatever building you are in and find enough resources to hold off the zombies until you can find the key or piece of equipment you need. This is where the game gets weird. To finish a level you need to find a guitar and amp and play rock music to defeat all of the zombies.
Slaying zombies has never been an easy task, but the new Dead Block trailer gives a simple three step program to aid in survival. The trailer shows off some …
