Team Meat on the ‘grinder’ about iOS Meat Boy clone

By  •  News

They say imitation is the best form of flattery, but is this truly the case when it comes to video games? Many of you know about the Splosion Man rip off MaXplosion for iOS, which Twisted Pixel took in stride and in return had their own fun. Now there is a Super Meat Boy rip off called Tobar which appears on iOS as well. This is in no way, shape or form a coincidence as you can see for yourself; square main character, check, buzz saws everywhere, check, wall jumping and sliding, check. Read what Edmund McMillen, the co-creator of Super Meat Boy, said to Destructoid on the issue after the break.

New Storm trailers bring in the seasons

The idea of playing as the weather might sound strange to some but in Storm, it’s the only way to solve puzzles. You must grow trees by utilizing the weather and the climates in order to complete each level. Above, you’ll see the trailer for Spring which uses a lot of wind and after the break, be sure to catch the Summer trailer. It looks like Storm is shaping up to be an interesting puzzler, it was slated for Summer 2011 at 800 MSP so make sure to keep an eye on this storm later this year.

MLB Bobblehead Pros review (XBLA)

MLB Bobblehead Pros was developed by Power Pros Production and published by Konami. It was released on July 6, 2011 for 800 MSP.

Not many MLB games are on Xbox Live Arcade, with only one being currently available, MLB Stickball. MLB Bobblehead Pros tries to add drollery to baseball, but unfortunately falls short of being even a little humorous. With lackluster gameplay, creepy player models and features being locked up as future DLC, MLB Bobblehead Pros is a poor attempt at making an arcade baseball game.

XBLAFancast Episode 21

By  •  Podcast

It’s another three man show this week with John, Andrew and myself. We’ve officially decided to bump our episode length to one hour, we weren’t very good at sticking to the 30 minute one anyway so here’s hoping this works out better!

A little bit of a slow news week this week but we still find a few stories that spark some interesting conversation. Including Ms Splosion Man getting a table in Pinball FX2 and those Resident Evil ports heading to anywhere but XBLA.

We had a few new releases last week, John and Andrew played with them some so they talk a bit about those. Spoilers: Andrew is not a fan of MLB Bobbleheads. Since I haven’t played the newer release I talk about my continuing love of Half-Minute Hero (and it’s music) and of course Trenched.
