xbonetwitch

Xbox One’s Twitch app just received a huge update yesterday that brings a slew of new features to Xbox One gamers. Weather you’re an established broadcaster on Twitch, a sporadic viewer or have just picked up an Xbox One and are new to the whole idea of streaming gameplay, this update has something for you.

The main new feature of the app is advanced broadcast filtering. For example, have you ever wanted to watch the #1 Call of Duty player in the world? Maybe you’re hoping that watching will help you pick up a few tips and tricks that will improve your game. Well, now you will be able to do just that. Searching for the #1-ranked player, or the highest K/D, or a gamer driving a specific car in The Crew just became that much easier with the Twitch for Xbox One app and the advanced broadcast filters. If you’re completely new to Twitch and just starting broadcasting this update will also help gamers find you, as viewers now have the ability to filter by skill.

A producer of After Burner Climax, Noriyuki Shimoda, confirms via Twitter the removal of the game from distribution. The PlayStation Network is currently seeing a sale for the title and it is unknown at this time whether or not the Xbox Live Marketplace will see an equivalent sale.
  • Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Special Editions was quietly delisted from the Xbox Live Marketplace while Deep Silver had it listed for its Deal of the Week from December 2-9. While it was sad to see it removed before the sale officially ended, at least the publisher can say the game was put on sale before removal.

Take a first look at Adam Orth’s outer space experience Adrift

#dealwithit

That was Adam Orth’s comment in 2013 about future consoles being “always-online.” It was the comment that sparked major internet backlash, put him on his path to be released from Microsoft and set his life in a spiral.

You could say his life was…Adrift. You could say, this is his attempt to #dealwithit.

Studio Three One Zero describes Adrift as “an immersive First Person Experience (FPX) that tells the story of an astronaut in peril. Floating silently amongst the wreckage of a destroyed space station with no memory and a severely damaged EVA suit, the only survivor struggles to determine the cause of the catastrophic event that took the lives of everyone on board. The player fights to stay alive by exploring the wreckage for precious resources, and overcomes the challenges of an unforgiving environment to repair the damaged emergency escape vehicle and safely return home.”

Sound familiar? Parallels can be drawn to Adam Orth’s experience and his attempts to salvage his life, pick up the pieces and learn from his mistakes in the process.

Check out the trailer below for the first look at Adrift.

Boom Ball for Kinect review (Xbox One)

Boom Ball for Kinect was developed and published by Virtual Air Guitar Company on Xbox One. It was released on November 28, 2014 for $9.99. A copy was provided by Virtual Air Guitar Company for review purposes.

Boom Ball For Kinect

Raise your hand if your favorite Kinect-based experience was the “Rally Ball” game in the original Kinect Adventures on Xbox 360. Me too! Well, good news — now we’ve got that same idea expanded into a full ID@Xbox game in the form of Boom Ball for Kinect.

If you’re like me, the idea of a first-person, 3D, motion-controlled Brick Breaker sounds like an absolute blast. Indie studio Virtual Air Guitar Company seems to agree and created 55 levels of brick breaking to satisfy that craving. The only question: is it any good?
