There isn’t a lot to say about Arkedo Studio’s upcoming game Hell Yeah! that you can’t tell just by looking at the name of the game. The art style, the crazy minigames, the twisted humor; all of that feeds into what is going to be without a doubt the most insane game ever to hit XBLA. Of course, this wouldn’t be much of a preview without talking a little bit about what we learned from the demo at PAX, so let’s get on with it!
First things first – the full name of the game is Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit, which pretty much sums up the plot. You play as Ash, the Prince of Hell, a dead rabbit who is caught by paparazzi doing some rather obscene things with a rubber ducky. Naturally, this causes the whole of the underworld to lose what little respect they had for you, so in order to gain it back you have to kill, well, everything. Sound awesome? We thought so.

Sonic the Hedgehog: 4: Episode 1 didn’t exactly spin dash to fan’s hearts when it released in 2010–it contained a wonky physics engine and lackluster gameplay, but Sega plans to turn that perception around with its aptly titled sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2.
The demo we played at PAX East had Sonic speeding through an act covered in blizzard conditions with huge snowballs gaining mass while fumbling toward our blue protagonist, so it was important that Sega’s promise to include retro physics and more refined gameplay were included to overcome the demo’s obstacles.
Sega has succeeded so far, sort of. The most obvious inclusion, the ability to harness Tails’ hovering skills to carry the grounded Sonic to distance ledges makes for an enjoyable distraction, but once vertical the overbearing weight of Sonic becomes apparent. He still needs more momentum to maintain a steady speed than his incarnations in the 90s, and any and all gameplay distractions like dropping straight down from flying high with Tails just makes Sonic seem heavier than a Hummer.

When we started XBLA’s Most Wanted back in February of 2011 we did so more for fun. It was, in our minds, a pipe dream to actually think some of these games would be hitting Xbox Live Arcade. Yet over the past year we’ve seen both announcements and releases that directly correlate with some of the games on our most wanted list. Now to be fair we realize that we’re just one site, but at the same time we know that developers and publishers look out on the web for what the fans want. We like to think we’re a little part of that. Here are some examples that make us think XBLA’s Most Wanted is successful:

Sega seems to be doing a lot of porting these days don’t they? From re-releases of Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure to even franchises on the Sega Saturn with Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun. With the HD Jet Set Radio finally on the way, we thought we’d take a look at five games that should be re-made in HD for our digital platform. Some of them could be huge online hits and some are just bizarre games that would work great under a 1200 or less MSP price-point. So let’s worry about Y2K again before worrying about the apocalypse in this list.

A few weeks back Sega and Arkedo took the veil off Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit, the violence filled platformer formerly known as Project Hell Yeah. At the time of its announcement, only a stylized teaser for the game was released, leaving us to use our imaginations to picture what the game would look and play like. Today, Sega released the first screenshots of the game in action, giving us our first legitimate look at the game. You’ve never seen the rabbit prince of hell getting revenge for the leak of explicit rubber ducky photos like this before! Read on for the gallery of screenshots and expect Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit to hit Xbox Live Arcade sometime later this year.

Sega recently announced their Vintage Collection for PlayStation Network and WiiWare. Sadly the Xbox 360 wasn’t in the original announcement, however a marketplace listing reveals that a slightly different collection will be coming to our platform of choice. Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World is a combination of three classic Wonder Boy titles: Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Monster World IV, the latter of which will be making its debut appearance outside of Japan. The listing shows a release date of April 25, 2012, however these dates are sometimes placeholders, so we can’t confirm that as an actual release. Thanks to @lifelower for the initial tip that got the ball rolling. Hit the jump for the official description and a slew of screenshots.
