Konami set to publish Choplifter HD this winter, debuts new screens

Konami has announced that they are teaming up with inXile Entertainment to publish the previously announced Choplifter HD for Xbox Live Arcade this winter. Based on the classic arcade series from the 1980’s, Choplifter HD puts you in the shoes of a helicopter pilot tasked with rescue missions ranging from extracting prisoners from POW camps to helping survivors of zombie outbreaks. Konami has provided us with six new screenshots of the game in action (which also features a Duke Nukem cameo) which can be viewed by clicking the link below to read on. Additionally, check out our interview with the game’s Senior Game Designer, Jairo Silva from back in August to get more of the nitty gritty details straight from the horse’s mouth. As always, stay tuned to XBLAFans for more Choplifter HD coverage coming your way in the weeks ahead.

New Realms of Ancient War screens revealed

A while back we posted a trailer for a new XBLA dungeon crawler, Realms of Ancient War, but there’s not been much more information on the game. Until now that is, for Wizarbox and Focus Home Interactive have this week unveiled some new screenshots and revealed a little bit of the intriguing storyline:

This heroic-fantasy hack ‘n’ slash takes you on a continent ravaged by a war that raged ten years earlier. The four Kingdoms of Men, Elves and Dwarves lay in ruins, preyed on by raiders and looters. In this chaos, a new, unknown threat is looming… To discover its true nature, the kingdoms sent detachments to investigate, a dangerous mission from which no one returned. But what about you? You, who were in the wrong place at the wrong time…

Realms of Ancient War, or RAW as it is helpfully shortened to, will allow you to play as a powerful Warrior, a dark Sorcerer or a Rogue master of stealth, either alone or with a friend in 2-player co-op. RAW is set to hit XBLA sometime in 2012. Head over the page to view those gorgeous screenshots.

Ubisoft announces Babel Rising for XBLA with Kinect support

Ubisoft has let us play a god before with From Dust but they’re looking for something more biblical and controller-free with Babel Rising. Based on the iOS game, you play as a god preventing towers being built by followers. The game is being developed by Mando Productions and will utilize the Kinect sensor, using motion based controls to simulate the same effects of the iOS game. It’ll be fun to see how you destroy towers with your hands and make crazy motions for catapulting. Catch some screenshots after the break and look out for this title in 2012.
