Gotham City Impostors – Monolith’s 6 vs. 6 online shooter set in a crooked Gotham City – will receive free DLC next month as way of thank you to the legions of fans that offered feedback through the beta. Announced via the Gotham City Impostor’s website, the DLC boasts a new map (set in the Gotham Times building), a pair of fresh weapons (a bullet-blocking katana and a quick-draw pistol), an additional support item, the Nimble Fingers Fun Fact and a slew of newfangled costume pieces.

Microsoft takes more flak from indie community

By  •  News

Yet another indie developer has berated the design of the new Xbox Dashboard. Comments from Kris Steele, developer of Hypership Out of Control, echo those from a long line of indie developers who have expressed concern over the new dashboard, most of whom claim Microsoft has effectively “buried” Xbox Live Indie Games.

In a heated blog-post, Steele analysed sales data from two of his games available on XBLIG; Hypership Out of Control – released in 2010 – and its sequel, Hypership Still Out of Control – released January of this year with Microsoft’s new dashboard in effect.

Pinball FX2 expansion set to arrive this month

Developer Zen Studios is set to release Epic Quest, an expansion to Pinball FX2, it announced today. The medieval-knight themed table, which will be available to download this month, looks to merge classic pinball with some RPG-lite tropes. It will integrate seamlessly into the Pinball FX2 platform, the developer said, and arrive bundled with a stack of new achievements. Presumably all for a price.

The trailer boasts character progression and a leveling system, but that doesn’t look to extend much beyond a crowded wardrobe. The core pinball experience seems to very much be at the heart of Epic Quest. Hit the jump for screenshots of the new table.

Trials Evolution out spring 2012

Trials Evolution out spring 2012

New Trials Evolution footage has appeared on the Xbox Marketplace confirming that the highly-anticipated stunt-racer will launch spring 2012. That whittles it down to a period of about four months but should put to bed any lasting fears that Evolution would be reserved to headline this year’s Summer of Arcade event.

Alongside the customary blend of bike-racing, stunts and collisions, the video flaunts Evo’s “crazy powerful” track editor. Footage of a first person shooter, no less, accompanies the flurry of only-slightly less zany bike tracks and arrives but a few days after a separate video was leaked showcasing a Limbo-esque level. Crazy and powerful, it would appear.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD screenshots

Fresh screenshots of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD – the XBLA mashup of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and the venerable Pro Skater 2 – have surfaced. The images show Tony and the gang “killing it in the Warehouse”. Accompanying the snapshots is news that seven levels from the two classics have been given the HD treatment and are poised to return in Pro Skater HD. Rack your memories, the levels cherry-picked by Tony himself are: Warehouse, School 2, Mall, Phoenix, Hangar, Marseilles and Venice.

Of course, all of that pales into the ether because the most salient feature of any Tony Hawk game is the soundtrack. Regrettably the press team remain tight-lipped on the matter, so no word on whether the likes of Papa Roach, Goldfinger, Bad Religion and Millencolin will be part of the comeback.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater debuted on the Playstation eleven years ago. For more on Pro Skater HD head here. Hit the jump for the screenshots.
