The long-awaited third chapter Penny Arcade’s XBLA RPG series, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, finally hit XBLIG to generally positive reviews June 29. Now, just a little over a month out from the game’s release, news has begun to trickle out about the game’s first DLC pack.
Penny Arcade’s Jerry Holkins (aka Tycho Brahe) announced today that the first free DLC package for Zeboyd Games’ On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 is nearing completion. …
Penny Arcade: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 3 was released today on Xbox Live Indie Games. The first 2 episodes of the RPG series were originally released …
After Hothead Games went on to work on DeathSpank, the future was uncertain as to whether we would get Episode 3 of Penny Arcade Adventures. The first two weren’t the best-selling titles on XBLA but they did garner a great cult audience. Now Zeboyd, creators of Cthulha Saves The World and Breath of Death VII on XBLIG, have come to save the property with On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 for XBLIG, iOS, PC, Mac, and Android.
In an interview with Joystiq, Robert Boyd of Zeboyd talked about how the project came about from a user’s Penny Arcade forum post, stating they should use an indie developer and recommending them. He contacted Penny Arcade to see if they were interested, unsure if he heard a response but Robert Khoo responded and things got started.
If you’ve ever played any of Zeboyd’s games, the style is a bit of a change from what Hothead does. It’s more pixelated and 8-bit in the style of old Final Fantasy. The gameplay will be very similar but still retain that old Penny Arcade humor. If you’re at PAX East this year, it’ll be showing on the Expo Floor and check out the interview below and some screenshots after the jump.

Penny Arcade has partnered with indie developer Zeboyd Games, makers of Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World, to make the long awaited episode …
Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII developer Zeboyd Games seems fed up with Xbox Live Indie Games. They’ve been pushed around by the College Lacrosse 11 …
Cthulhu Saves the World is a throwback to the times of old, when all a game needed to captivate an audience was decent graphics, interesting music and a lofty level cap with plenty of level grinding to reach. And while not Cthulhu’s first game, it is definitely the first to feature him as the protagonist. Developed by Robert Boyd of Zeboyd Games (of Breath of Death VII fame) for the Indie Games Winter Uprising, a promotion intended to show gamers that just because a game is independently developed it doesn’t have to be lackluster. Does Cthulhu hurt or use his full heal spell on the Xbox Live Indie Games image? Find out after the jump!
You may, or rather should have heard of the Indie Games Winter Uprising by now. But if you haven’t here’s what you need to know. The developers behind the Indie Games on Xbox Live Marketplace decided they wanted an event in the vein of a “Summer of Arcade” and other such promotions. Resigned to the fact Microsoft wasn’t going to make one for them they took it upon themselves to do so. Thus the Winter Uprising was born, originally intended to take place during the first week of December it has now been extended to include the entire month.
We here at XBLAFans are passionate in our feeling that the Indie Games section deserves more recognition than it currently receives. As such we have created this hub for the games that will be included in the Uprising. Here you’ll find a brief description of the games, a link to the developers website, screenshots, trailers, pricing (if available), and for those games already released there will be download links and reviews.
The games are being released pretty irregularly, with several having already been delayed due to last minute bugs so be sure to check back often and see what’s new!
