Have you ever wondered what it’s like to play as a never-ending revolving car? Well, you’ll be able to find out starting Friday when No Goblin’s Roundabout releases on Xbox One for $14.99.

Roundabout is a throwback to ’70s B movies telling the rise-to-fame story of Georgio Manos, the world’s most famous revolving chauffeur. The player is tasked with driving passengers around while taking on dangerous missions and finding secret collectibles along the way. It all takes place in an open-world puzzle environment with dozens of twisty streets. To top it off, the game will feature a dedicated e-sport speed run mode endorsed by a talking skeleton.

Phil Spencer tweeted the above image, saying, “Nice to finally be doing this on my Xbox One dev kit.” You see that itty bitty text in the center that says “Press Y to save the screenshot?” That’s probably what he’s talking about.

Last October, Phil Spencer promised to let you save screenshots on your Xbox One in a future update, and it looks like it’s coming soon. We only just got the February update that brought Game Hubs, custom backgrounds, faster controller connectivity, and other things, so he’s keeping his team busy.

The Escapists review (Xbox One)

The Escapists review (Xbox One)

The Escapists was developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and will be published on Xbox One by Team 17 Digital. It is set for release on February 13, 2015 for $19.99. A copy was provided for review purposes.

TE1

The Escapists positions itself as a kind of craft-em-up roguelike set across a number of fiendishly designed secure facilities including prisons and POW camps. Think of it as somewhere between Terraria, Monaco and any number of top down action-RPGs. The main difference is that in order for you to be successful, The Escapists demands significantly more time and patience than almost any other game I’ve played — and what’s more, it’s perfectly suited to being a cute 8-bit indie title.

With only a very small number of simple core mechanics to rely upon, The Escapists turns the table on the typical sandbox approach taken by similar games. Instead, players are literally forced to adhere to a strict regimen of roll calls, mealtimes, break-times and work whilst simultaneously plotting their escape. It’s an inspired system that asks an awful lot from players and results in the rewards being all the sweeter.

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty coming soon to Xbox One in March

By  •  News

Oddworld

It has been a long time since Abe and the Oddworld franchise has seen an Xbox console. In fact, it hasn’t seen a release at all on Xbox 360. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is a ground-up remake of the classic Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, and excited Xbox One fans won’t have to wait much longer to play this game from the classic franchise.

This is the story of a floor waxer for RuptureFarms by the name of Abe and the unlikely adventure he is about to embark on. One night, Abe overhears his boss, Molluck the Glutton’s, plans for turning Abe and other Mudokons into tasty treats to save Molluck’s empire. It’s up to Abe to save the Mudokons by escaping the dark, desolate environments known as RuptureFarms to prevent the plans from happening.

Features included are fan-requested “old school” controls, QuikSave and QuikLoad functions, as well as leaderboard options.
