Are You Smart Enough? review (XBLIG)

Are You Smart Enough? was developed by Latino Soul Studio and was released on Xbox Live March 4th, 2011 for 80MSP. A copy of this game was provided by the developer for reviewing purposes.

Are You Smart Enough is a puzzle game that makes you use your brain on multiple levels. The object is to move the boxes around by pushing them to the predesignated spots on the board. What makes this challenging is that you can only push the boxes to the destinations, there is no pulling and each stage has a different set of walls that you must maneuver around.

Nin2-Jump review (XBLA)

Nin2-Jump was developed by Cave  and retails for 400 MSP.

Nin2-Jump (pronounced Nin-Nin-Jump) is a platformer that comes from an unlikely heritage. It was developed by Cave, a developer famous for one thing: bullet hell shooters. It’s not hard to see where this influenced the game in many places. But in releasing Nin2-Jump Cave has proven that they can produce competent games in other genres.

Much like a shooter, the story here is razor thin. You are a ninja. Your goal is to save the princess. You achieve this by collecting scrolls and destroying bosses. While this all sounds familiar it is enough to drive the game, and it is the gameplay that matters.

Weapon of Choice review (XBLIG)

Weapon of Choice is developed and produced by MommysBest and was released on Xbox Live November 14, 2008. A copy of the game was provided by the publisher for reviewing purposes.

Weapon of Choice is a fast paced side scrolling shoot’ em up reminiscent of favorites like Gunstar Heroes and Contra. The player character is tasked with protecting the world from a horde of invading aliens. There are branching levels giving players the ability to choose where they want to, each direction leading to a different ending. There are seven unique characters, each has a unique gun and double jump. This gives players a very diverse way to play through the levels.

XBLA’s Most Wanted: Star Wars X-Wing Alliance

The X-Wing series spans a total of four games and three expansion packs. Of the series, TIE Fighter is often mentioned in top 100 games lists, and in general the entire series has been commercially and critically well received. But if TIE Fighter was the most popular, why choose X-Wing Alliance? The answer is simple. All of the games in the series are powered by the same engine. X-Wing Alliance is the newest iteration of that engine, and has every feature of the previous games and more.

SFG Beach Volleyball Review (XBLIG)

SFG Beach Volleyball was developed by Stir Fry Games and released on June 7, 2010 for 400 Microsoft Points. A copy was provided by the developer for review purposes.

Are you dying to have some fun in the sun but are either afraid of sand or are a vampire? Stir Fry Games has got you covered with SFG Beach Volleyball. A game featuring those lovable Xbox Live Avatars you have grown so attached to is a no brainer right? Well, with there being a considerable lack of beach volleyball games available, this title may just be what you’re looking for. That is however, if you have some friends to play with. Get your shovel and pale because we’re digging in to this one.

Community playdate tonight!

By  •  News

Tonight is our Xbox Live Community Playdate. This isn’t a “let’s get together and play”, it’s an official, Xbox Sponsored playdate. We’ll be playing Hydro Thunder Hurricane, one of our many favorites around the XBLAFans offices. Jump online from 8-11PM Eastern Standard Time to game with our staff.

We probably won’t be playing the DLC maps as it requires money to play them, but we will be requiring the multiplayer Tempest Pack patch, available here for free. This compatibility patch (technically free DLC) will let those who like DLC-only boats and skins use them, and people who don’t own the paid DLC can see them. For those interested the full version of the DLC includes three new achievements two new boats, three new tracks, expert versions of the novice and pro boats, and new skins for every boat. It’s well worth the 400MSP, as indicated by our review of it. If you want to buy the full version of the Tempest Pack, you can do so here.

Hit the jump for a list of gamertags participating.

Chus Dynasty is developed by mHoesterey and was released on December 10th, 2010 for 240MSP. A copy of the game was provided by the developer for review purposes.

Chus Dynasty is a four player fighter along the lines of games like Small Arms or Super Smash Brothers. Each character has unique moves and fighting styles which means everyone can find a character that fits their style of fighting. Players fight through several levels taking on the other fighters to learn the origins of the gods.
