A while back we posted a trailer for a new XBLA dungeon crawler, Realms of Ancient War, but there’s not been much more information on the game. Until now that is, for Wizarbox and Focus Home Interactive have this week unveiled some new screenshots and revealed a little bit of the intriguing storyline:
This heroic-fantasy hack ‘n’ slash takes you on a continent ravaged by a war that raged ten years earlier. The four Kingdoms of Men, Elves and Dwarves lay in ruins, preyed on by raiders and looters. In this chaos, a new, unknown threat is looming… To discover its true nature, the kingdoms sent detachments to investigate, a dangerous mission from which no one returned. But what about you? You, who were in the wrong place at the wrong time…
Realms of Ancient War, or RAW as it is helpfully shortened to, will allow you to play as a powerful Warrior, a dark Sorcerer or a Rogue master of stealth, either alone or with a friend in 2-player co-op. RAW is set to hit XBLA sometime in 2012. Head over the page to view those gorgeous screenshots.

Xotic was developed by WXP Games and published by Valcon Games. It was released November 16, 2011 for 800MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.
When reading Xotic’s description on Xbox Live it sounds very pretentious, it touts never-before-seen game mechanics and says that “there’s never been a game like this”. Once you play the game you realize this isn’t just boasting for the sake of advertising; it’s in reality a very original game with a highly unique experience. Unfortunately this game is a port from its original PC version, which causes most of its pitfalls and makes an otherwise fantastic game suffer.
