Details about the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations 2 Raid mode

RE Rev 2 Raid Mode

At midnight PST today, Capcom has released its first details about Raid mode for the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations 2. As a popular mode in the first Resident Evil Revelations, information about Raid mode has been kept quiet until now.

With a little less than a month until the game releases, here are the details released by Capcom.

* There will be 15 playable characters in Raid mode. As of now, the known characters available are Claire, Barry, Moira and a character named Gina that you’ll meet in Episode 1. The characters Hunk and Wesker are also available depending on how the game is bought. Hunk and Wesker can also be purchased individually.

* Raid mode will be available only for local co-op on release. Online co-op will be added in after the final episode is released. Capcom states that the development team is currently focusing on making sure “online co-op will function as expected.”

More information is available. Continue to find out.

XBLA Fans’ 25 most anticipated games of 2015

You’ve read our picks for the best XBLA and ID@Xbox games of 2014. Now it’s time to look forward with us at what might be the best games of 2015. While fully acknowledging that some of these games likely won’t up to their billing and others may get pushed into 2016, these are the 2015 games that XBLA Fans is currently most looking forward to. If these releases aren’t on your radar yet, they will be after you’re done reading.

#IDARB

Developers: Other Ocean Interactive and The People of the Internet

#IDARB is a particularly interesting game to say we’re anticipating in 2015, seeing as XBLA Fans got our hands on what we were told was the “final” game in December and published our review already. This zany handball-meets-platformer game from Other Ocean Interactive and the fine folks of the internet — many features crowd sourced — isn’t officially out until February, though, when it will be part of the Games with Gold promotion. It’s difficult to explain just what #IDARB is, but it’s easy to recommend that you go play it when it releases next month.

Winter may be coming, but the next episode of Telltale’s Game of Thrones is going to arrive sooner. Episode 2: The Lost Lords will continue the story of House Forrester, a household caught in the middle of the War of the Five Kings. Telltale released a first look at the episode, and while it doesn’t give away much it seems players can at least count on visiting The Wall. The Lost Lords launches February 4 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One for $4.99, and is available as part of the season pass. Check out the first look trailer after the jump.

Xbox One

February is right around the corner, and Microsoft has announced new updates are coming to the Xbox One when it gets here. Members of the Xbox One Preview Program may have already downloaded the updates in question, but here are the upcoming features. If you have any feedback or ideas about any features, check out the Xbox Feedback page.

1. Custom backgrounds and tile transparency — As you see in the screenshot below, Microsoft has added transparency to some home tiles to allow a better view of the Xbox One background. Microsoft has stated that some items were not made transparent due to “usage rights/restrictions for certain images.”

A new feature to Xbox One, custom backgrounds will now be allowed. This option will be accessible by going to “My games & apps,” “Apps,” “Settings,” “My Xbox,” “My background” and “Custom image.”

Resident Evil review (Xbox One)

Resident Evil was developed and published on Xbox One and Xbox 360 by Capcom Entertainment Inc. It was released on January 20, 2015 for $19.99. An Xbox One copy was provided by Capcom for review purposes.

Resident Evil Title Screen

So for those of you that have been living under a rock, this is the Resident Evil that started it all in remastered HD glory. This is the start of the franchise that eventually grew into a larger series with many sequels, animated movies and even live action movie spin-offs that played in movie theaters. We’re up to Resident Evil 6 and I’m sure Resident Evil 7 is hiding somewhere in the shadows. So right, my rock has been rather comfortable. This is my first time playing through the entirety of Resident Evil. I might have played it briefly when I was young but I don’t remember a thing.

My historical experiences start with playing Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2 online non-stop on PlayStation 2 before playing the first game of that spin-off, Resident Evil Outbreak. Since then I’ve played Resident 4 on the Nintendo Wii, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations, and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles. Oh, I’ve also played Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City which many people try to pretend never existed. I’ve watched my friends stream Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 and enjoyed it. The plot and background stories of Resident Evil the franchise are quite interesting to me. I’d like to think I’m as well informed as it can be without playing the earlier games of the series. I plan to play the rest of the series one day and it starts here. So what are my thoughts of the beginning of the franchise?

Xbox One is coming to Windows 10, and Windows 10 is coming to Xbox One

Xbox Windows 10

All eyes were on Microsoft a few days ago as the tech giant revealed Windows 10, HoloLens and many more shiny new things. Xbox fans (like us) were rewarded with the announcement that Windows 10 is coming to Xbox One, and a whole lot of features will be coming with it. Your PC is about to become the ultimate companion to your living room entertainment.

Perhaps the biggest announcement is that you will be able to stream your Xbox One games to any Windows 10 device, like a laptop or Surface tablet. Nintendo and Sony have already demonstrated the value of this coveted feature, but your tablet will make a bigger screen than a Wii U GamePad or a Vita. You just need a good spot to prop it.

There will also be games playable on both platforms, starting with Fable Legends. Game DVR will be accessible from your PC where a mouse and keyboard make better editing tools. And, DirectX 12 should make a big difference to graphics with its optimization black magic. Check it out in the video below:
