Figure out Super Time Force in this new gameplay trailer

By  •  Videos, News

Super Time Force

You may have heard about Super Time Force. Something about how it’s a retro-looking side-scroller game with arcade-y Contra-type action, but with some time-traveling twist. They say that when you die, you can reverse the clock and jump in as a different hero throughout the same moments while your previous run continues exactly how you played it out. These re-runs can stack up to having several heroes carrying out their recorded destruction in tandem.

Confused? That’s okay, because you now can finally see it in action. This new gameplay trailer from Capy Games demonstrates exactly how the time travel smashes a classic formula into a mind-twisting puzzle. It also shows off the different heroes, their weapons, and how you will pause time to cycle to new heroes and zip through the level with as many extra seconds as possible. You can even use the time travel to save your life by intervening where you died. What are you waiting for?

Ducktales Remastered sends a postcard from the snowy Himalayas

DucktalesRemasteredHimalayas

Capcom’s HD revival of a certain duck-centric cult classic is right around the corner, and in preparation for the approaching release of Ducktales Remastered, we’ve received a postcard reminding us of the adventures in store. Duckburg’s loveable pilot Launchpad McQuack sends his regards from high atop the snow-capped Himalayas, in search of the Crown of Gengis Khan to presumably cast into Scrooge’s money bin – though it belongs in a museum.

Ducktales Remastered has been rebuilt from the ground up based on the 8-bit skeleton of 1990’s Ducktales. The levels, the music, even some of the original voice actors all make a return with spruced up aesthetics and a host of new content to flesh out the experience. Ducktales Remastered’s adventure begins September 11 on Xbox Live Arcade, priced at 1200 MSP. To check out Launchpad’s digital how-ya-doing, hit the jump for the trailer.

PSA: Thunder Wolves, Storm, Fireburst out now; Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara tomorrow

dnd Mystara

It’s been a busy week, what with E3 and several of the staff attending. As such, let’s play catch up on a few releases. Thunder Wolves, an action-arcadey chopper game in the vein of the classic Strike games released on June 8 for 800 MSP. The gameplay is quite decent, but while it tries to pull off a Blood Dragon style spoof of 80’s action it falls a little short. If you’re looking for a fun, arcade action game definitely check out the trial.

Fireburst and Storm both released last Wednesday for 800 MSP each. Fireburst is your typical offroad racer with an interesting boost gameplay mechanic. Fans of the FlatOut games should definitely take a look. Storm is a really slick puzzle game that puts players in control of the elements. It’s really difficult to describe, but if that sounds interesting you can view a gameplay trailer after the jump.

Classic DnD gamers will have something to cheer for tomorrow when Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara hits virtual shelves at 1200 MSP. It includes two classic Dungeons and Dragons games: Tower of Doom and Shadow over Mystara. Both are beat em’ ups with elements of role playing. For the uninitiated, think Streets of Rage with some Castle Crashers.
