New details on Burnout Crash have surfaced. We can now confirm that the game is being developed by none other than Criterion Games, daddy to the Burnout series. We speculated back in April that this would be an Xbox Live Arcade title, and we can finally confirm that is. But don’t expect this to be the Burnout you know and love. This one looks to be a top down vehicular havoc game in the spirit of the Flash title Roadkill Revenge. “Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director.
The game will make use of the Autolog feature found in 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The feature will be used to complete challenges between friends, and presumably to gloat as well. But we’re trying not to be disappointed. As much as we like to see developers try new things we were hoping for something akin to Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge. Still, it’s best not to judge a game before it’s in our hands, and Criterion has never let us down before. We’re remaining optimistic. Burnout Crash hits digital shelves this fall. Hit the jump to see the new screenshots and read the press release.

But I already do, you say? Oh, grasshopper, you’ve much to learn. Only the very best truly know how to get the most out of their fares. You need someone who has years of experience: someone who knows the arcade game, the Dreamcast port, the PSP port — pretty much everything to date. Unfortunately we just don’t have anyone like that here so we’ve taken what we know and combined it with the knowledge of the those players who truly drive a crazy taxi.

Before the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon games were popular there was Police Quest, a point and click cop adventure from Sierra Entertainment. In 1999 the series changed to a first person tactical shooter with SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle. The next in the series, SWAT 4, was released in 2005 to critical acclaim. Developer Irrational Games created an amazing experience and moved on to create the Bioshock series.
SWAT 4 follows a fictional Los Angeles SWAT team through several tactical situations. You play as the team leader, giving commands, taking down suspects, and securing evidence. It was powered by Unreal Engine 2.5, one of the most powerful for its time, and still looks strong today.

Lucha Fury was developed by Punchers Impact and published by Coktel. It was released June 22, 2011 for 800 MSP. A copy was provided by the publisher for review purposes.
Luchadors are somewhat of an enigma. Like the North American’s WWE they compete in major league wrestling mainly in Mexico and other South/Central American countries. However in Lucha Libre wrestlers conceal their identity behind a mask, making them in essence possibly anyone in the world. Lucha Fury plays on that culture, pitting four masked luchadors against insurmountable odds. The game is very Final Fight meets Nacho Libre with some amazing artwork and bright colors. It’s a beautiful setting that works really well with the game’s slapstick humor.
A few months back, a rumor surfaced that I Am Alive would be coming to Xbox Live Arcade. That was later debunked as a rumor. Recently a rating for …

Prince of Persia Classic was developed by Gameloft SA and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was released June 13, 2007 for 800MSP.
Children of the early 1990’s know the original Prince of Persia well. Released in 1989 on the Apple II it was later ported to over a dozen other platforms. The premise is simple: the Sultan’s advisor Jaffar (sound familiar?) locks the princess in a room in the tallest tower, while he boyfriend prince is sent to the dungeons. Jaffar gives the princess one hour to choose to either marry him or be executed, and our nameless hero must reach the top of the tower and defeat the villain to save the day. At its heart it’s a simple platform action game, and it doesn’t try to be anything more.
