About Scott Baker

The only thing that makes Scott happier than playing a brilliant game is sharing a brilliant game with other people. Fun fact: some psychologists call this "vicarious pride." He studies psychology and therefore knows more about you than you do. He's also too ashamed to admit that his wife is better than him at Super Mario World. You can try to understand him on Twitter.

Suda 51’s Black Knight Sword premieres December 12

By  •  News

Opening night for Suda 51’s newest bloody adventure Black Knight Sword is next week, December 12 on Xbox Live Arcade. This theatrical hack-and-slasher comes from Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, the same star-crossed teams from Japan and Hungary that brought us Sine Mora earlier this year. We saw the game earlier this year at PAX East, where we noticed a striking similarity to a certain other over-dramatized villain. The reverent nods continue in the press release they sent earlier today:

Bring out yer dead! Bring our yer dead! And, no, it won’t cost ninepence because The Black Knight from Black Knight Sword is here to rid the world of treacherous evil for the thrill of killing. The wicked, bad, naughty, villainous, duplicitous, and super evil Dark Princess must pay the penalty! So never fear, The Black Knight will make his grand debut in Black Knight Sword on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft Wednesday, December 12. Even without arms or legs, The Black Knight will partake in an adventure through a strange spin on a classic fairytale to defeat the wicked creatures of the night.

[springboard type=”video” id=”599279″ player=”xbla001″ width=”640″ height=”400″ ]

A few weeks ago, we posted a developer blog for cartoony Dollar Dash from Candygun Games showing off the creative arsenal of household materials the bank robbers will use to shoot for loot. Now, we have two new trailers showing them in multiplayer action! Throw thieves off your trail with an identical decoy, or shrug off the shots behind a riot shield. Drop bombs, bear traps, oil slicks, or even a boom box to ensure the perfect getaway. Key word here: frantic. Read More

Zombie Driver HD review (XBLA)

Zombie Driver HD was developed by EXOR Studios and published by Cyberfront Corporation. It was released on October 17, 2012 for 800 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

Have you ever watched a zombie movie and silently pondered the cathartic value of a vehicle? Zombies are scary up close, but get inside an armored sports car and suddenly survival doesn’t seem so impossible. Then, imagine what you could do with automatic weapons strapped to the side, a flamethrower at the front, and rocket thrusters in the back. This is the prospect behind Zombie Driver HD–pick your vehicle, load it with heavy weapons, and blaze a bloody trail of carnage through the forest of undead. It’s the zombie apocalypse, and you are the only person daring enough to take on the horde in whatever vehicles you can find.
