Been holding out on Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, the wildly popular episodic downloadable series based on Robert Kirkman’s best-selling comic book series of the same name? Want to wait for the whole season in one tidy package? Lucky for you, Telltale plans to rerelease the game as a retail release by the end of this year.
Gearbox Software’s highly-rated shooter-RPG hybrid Borderlands 2, which hit consoles last week after years of anticipation, is chock full of in-jokes, references and Easter eggs for players to uncover. One such Easter egg centers on Minecraft, Mojang Studios‘ immensely popular world-building game, which hit XBLA in May. Want to sneak a peek? It’s no secret that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD has downloadable content incoming; heck, the first pack was announced before the game even released. As we (presumably) move ever-closer to the DLC pack’s release, more information is starting to trickle out – namely, a set of screens posted on the THPS HD Facebook page.
XBLA Fans has been provided with an achievement list for Croteam and Devolver Digital’s upcoming XBLA release of Serious Sam 3: BFE (Before First Encounter). The game, which serves as a prequel to the original Serious Sam, hit PC last year to generally positive reviews and is expected to hit Microsoft’s console by the end of the year. The next big update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, dubbed the “Adventure” update, adds NPCs, villages, strongholds and abandoned mineshafts…but not this week (or the next, most likely). There’s still a good deal to work on, it seems – and of course there’s testing to follow after that; it could be a bit of a wait.
