Mad Catz has revealed that the combined sales of Xbox One and PS4 amount to around 60 million units. This figure comes hot off the heels from a reported 55 million total combined units reported by EA last month. The new figure was reported by Mad Catz CFO David McKeon in conjunction with the company’s Q3 earnings report. Mad Catz also forecasts the total combined sales of Xbox One and PS4 will reach over 150 million units by the end of 2018.
While Microsoft has not publicly reported Xbox sales since late 2015, they can be estimated to be around 20 million units based on the numbers and figures Sony continues to release. Sony previously announced that as of January 3, PS4 sales stood at around 35.7 million units; that figure is now larger one month later. The NPD Group, a market research company that focuses on US retailers, also reports the PS4 outsold the Xbox One in January. With that being said, both platforms still are moving at a faster pace than the last console generation, which is good news for everyone.
