Bellator MMA patch details

By  •  News

Bellator: MMA Onslaught didn’t exactly win us over with its sloppy gameplay. While it looked pretty, that polish didn’t translate to the controls. But like any good developer/publisher team Kung Fu Factory and 345 Games listened to complaints and released a title update that addresses these concerns. Of the update they stated:

Community feedback has been at the forefront of 345 Games’ development since the launch of Bellator: MMA Onslaught on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in July. Well, players have spoken and 345 Games has listened and answered with a new game patch for XBLA and PSN users that is now available. The patch incorporates the suggestions and comments 345 Games has received through their social media networks over the past month.

Today’s patch is only the beginning of what’s in store for Bellator: MMA Onslaught. Over the next few months, 345 Games will continue to listen to its community on further enhancements and updates as it preps for a significant announcement toward the end of 2012.

Hit the jump for a full list of fixes and updates.

345 Games’ Matt McEnerney discusses updates for Bellator: MMA Onslaught

The folks at 345 Games have big plans for their game Bellator: MMA Onslaught. There is a patch releasing very soon which promises to clean up the gameplay and address many of the issues gamers have been raising. They have taken a few moments to give us an exclusive interview about the contents of the title update and their plans for the future. It sounds like good things are happening which are far above and beyond what most developers seek to do post launch.

Loading screens hinted at more moves being added in a future update. Is that happening? Can you give us any details?

[Matt McEnerney] We’re in the process of creating more content for the game which will certainly include new moves, but also a new arena, a new style, and some more items for your created fighter. Can’t give you specifics yet, but we’re hoping to pass certification and go live before Christmas. I can confirm that the content pack will be free! Read More

Bellator: MMA Onslaught review (XBLA)

Bellator: MMA Onslaught was developed by Kung Fu Factory and published by 345 Games. It was released on July 11, 2012 for 1200 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

Bellator: MMA Onslaught brings mixed martial arts (MMA) to Xbox Live Arcade for the first time. Onslaught is based on the Bellator Fighting League so it will likely be unfamiliar to those who only know about the UFC. Bellator utilizes a tournament system to determine who will get a title shot. Otherwise the rules in Bellator are largely the same as any other MMA organization. Onslaught’s main game mode revolves around the tournament and becoming the champ. The real question is whether or not Onslaught can compete with the MMA video game big boys the same way the Bellator league is attempting to compete in the MMA scene.

E3 Preview: What’s a Bellator and why is it so fun?

E3 Preview: What’s a Bellator and why is it so fun?

Have you ever had a friend that just doesn’t seem to get it? No matter how many times he’s informed that you’re just not into a band, a sport or some other such thing he just keeps on dragging you out to experience it. He can only be denied so many times before you reach the end of your Seinfeldian Excuse Rolodex and bite the bullet. So it is with MMA and one of my closest friends. Despite maintaining a serious passion for a number of sports, MMA excites me about as much as the prospect of playing Superman 64.

It’s of little surprise, then, that enthusiasm was low while trekking across the convention hall en route for an appointment to play 345 Games’ Bellator: MMA Onslaught. The nice folks at 345 ran through a quick overview of their fighting game and demoed a match in the blissfully peaceful office off the show floor. John noted how much better the visuals were than the last time he had seen the game. Then Matt McEnerney, senior producer at 345, and company showed off the game’s surprisingly deep RPG elements — character creation and progression. Once they were done tinkering, the fight was on. The more of the game that was shown, the more I suddenly found myself eager to give a try.

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon review (XBLA)

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon was developed by Backbone Entertainment and co-published by 345 Games and Comedy Central. It was released on August 31, 2011 for 800 MSP. A copy provided for review purposes.

Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon is based off of the hit series on Comedy Central, Ugly Americans, where they seemingly take every horrific devil spawn, mythical creature and odd ball and let them all coincide in New York City. The game is based around this concept; the idea is that the devils daughter is getting married, which is going to cause the end of days. It’s now your job as a member of the Department of Integration (D.O.I.) to stop this marriage and the impending doom of the world before it’s too late. You will join Mark, Callie, Leonard and Frank in this twin-stick adventure across New York to battle demons, man-birds and the devils daughter herself.
