PAX Prime is looking to be a fun-filled event next week in Seattle and our good friend Brian Provinciano is bringing his retro-carnage’ filled sandbox game in a big way. Not only will you be able to play the game and win swag but Vblank Entertainment will be giving away free Xbox Avatar shirts to the first 1,000 guys and 1,000 girls that stop by the booth. But if you happen to miss a chance on getting a shirt, they’ll be giving them away on their official Facebook and Twitter so make sure to follow them in case you want to win. The best part about getting this Avatar shirt is if you take a picture of your Avatar wearing the shirt and post it on their Facebook, you’ll be entered in a chance to win 1 of 10 copies of Retro City Rampage. Brian also said to expect a “booth surprise” at the show and he’ll be speaking about the development of the game at PAX Dev on August 25. We’ll give you all the details on the game from PAX Prime next week but for now, enjoy some new screens of the Tube TV mode.

Billy and Jimmy Lee have been pretty quiet for the last couple of years but they seem to be on track for a new revival. Barunson Interactive is developing a remake of the classic Double Dragon II: The Revenge but it will carry the new subtitle Wander of the Dragons. Instead of being a 2D remake, it’s gonna go full 3D with the environments and enemies. The gameplay will still remain the same of going from place to place, beating up a series of enemies with 2-player local co-op to boot. While it’s not an exact remake, it’ll have allusions to the original classic through some of the scenarios. It’ll also include new modes such as Survival and all-new playable characters if the Lee Brothers isn’t your thing. One thing unknown is if the co-op is online so fingers crossed you can beat up thugs with a buddy online in case he’s busy at home. Catch the video above and some new screenshots after the break, it’ll be hitting digital shelves this September for 1200 MSP.

Certain Affinity’s upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game Crimson Alliance has been a little scant on details, but they recently released a set of screenshots to give a little insight into the feel of the gameplay. The game is oft compared to action-RPGs like Diablo, but offers progression through loot rather than stats. The studio has previously worked on games like Call of Duty and is currently helping 343 Industries in their development of Halo CE, so they promise to leverage some of their action-heavy sensibilities into a promising new XBLA title in a well tread genre. Undoubtedly, Crimson Alliance will see the most attention in reference to its offer as a bonus to anyone who buys all of 2011’s Summer of Arcade titles. Check out the screens after the jump.
The creators of Just Cause 2 just released new screenshots for their upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title, Renegade Ops. Using the same engine as the aforementioned game, Avalanche hopes to update the genre of vehicular, arcade-like combat much like Shadow Complex built upon the framework of Metroid-style games in a modern context. Renegade Ops is slated to hit this fall on XBLA, so check out the screenshots after the jump to get a sneak peek.

New details on Burnout Crash have surfaced. We can now confirm that the game is being developed by none other than Criterion Games, daddy to the Burnout series. We speculated back in April that this would be an Xbox Live Arcade title, and we can finally confirm that is. But don’t expect this to be the Burnout you know and love. This one looks to be a top down vehicular havoc game in the spirit of the Flash title Roadkill Revenge. “Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director.
The game will make use of the Autolog feature found in 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The feature will be used to complete challenges between friends, and presumably to gloat as well. But we’re trying not to be disappointed. As much as we like to see developers try new things we were hoping for something akin to Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge. Still, it’s best not to judge a game before it’s in our hands, and Criterion has never let us down before. We’re remaining optimistic. Burnout Crash hits digital shelves this fall. Hit the jump to see the new screenshots and read the press release.
