Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now download Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood for free on Xbox One. This officially starts the Games with Gold program for Xbox One. Remember, these games are yours as long as you maintain your Xbox Live Gold subscription.

For Gold subscribers who don’t have an Xbox One, you can still claim the games at the Xbox.com online store and download them whenever you get the console. Halo: Spartan Assault can be claimed at this link, and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood can be claimed at this link.

We highly recommend Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, but we weren’t quite so hot on Halo: Spartan Assault. Still, they’re both free, so you can enjoy them with no regrets.
