Gamasutra has published its sales analysis for the month of June. Last month’s biggest seller by far was the zombie hit State of Decay, selling extremely well despite its higher-than-usual price. The game’s success isn’t a huge surprise, considering it broke the record for being the fastest-selling original game on XBLA shortly after its release. Free-to-play Spartacus Legends also did really well, having 225,000 players in the multiplayer mode within the first week of its release.

Unfortunately not everything did well last month. Games like Magic 2014 and Zen Studio’s CastleStorm didn’t break any records, but still pulled in a good number of new players over the course of the month. Doodle Jump was last month’s biggest flop, barely selling over 1,000 copies in its first week despite its huge iOS following. Storm, Fireburst, and Thunder Wolves couldn’t be tracked, but their mid-to-low-range scores may be a sign of low sales.

Last month also saw some old favorites still performing well. It comes to no surprise that Minecraft is still pulling in big numbers, almost reaching the 7 million mark. Free-to-play games Happy Wars and Doritos Crash Course 2 are still going strong. The Behemoth’s Castle Crashers is still holding its own after almost five years on the marketplace, and their recent release Battleblock Theater isn’t doing half bad either.
