It’s the (now regular) cast of three again this week. It’s a news heavy show, stories below, among the stories and subjects discussed are pricing, remakes and of course the Summer of Arcade.
Lucha Fury gets a little time (but it’s not very good so we skip over it mostly) while we round things out with a bit more Trenched now that all of us have played it.
Big thanks to Insane Ian for letting us use his awesome Achievement Unlocked song in this episode. Check out links to his stuff below.
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEp19.mp3[/podcast]A three man show this week and we’ve got a whole lot to talk about. John is joined by Andrew and myself again and as usual we start off discussing the past weeks most interesting news stories. (links below)
We finally got a couple of XBLA releases last week in the form of The Adventures of Shuggy and Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Andrew and John played each of these respectively and enjoyed them quite a alot. I reviewed Trenched, which is out this week so I talk about that for a while.
Please subscribe, comment, review and spread word about the podcast. We appreciate it! Check us out on twitter (@XBLAFans) where you can win codes for games, give us feedback or just ask a question.
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEp18.mp3[/podcast]E3 may be over but there’s still plenty to talk about and this week we even have people who were there, which certainly helps. If you missed last weeks episode (it was a bit late going up) be sure to check it out here.
John Laster is back in the hosting chair this week and since he was lucky enough to see pretty much every XBLA game being shown at E3 he tells us about all of um. There’s really not much else to say about this weeks podcast, so get listening!
If you want to know even more about what John, Stephen and Kaitlyn saw be sure to keep an eye on our previews section. Be sure to subscribe to us on iTunes and hey if you like the show why not give us a review?
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEp17.mp3[/podcast]Various events far too boring to describe led to a very delayed podcast this week. But that shouldn’t stop you from listening because this hour and 30 minute long podcast is well worth it. Unsurpringly it’s all about E3 which just finished up in LA.
Andrew takes up the hosting chair again since John was at E3 itself checking out all the cool new stuff. He’s joined by Ross Adams, John Carson and Damon Fillman. While none of us in the podcast were at E3 we all watched the Microsoft conference and we go through it point by point.
Those who watched will note that there was absolutely no XBLA related stuff at that conference, but don’t worry we hit all the latest XBLA news first. That includes the announcement of the Summer of Arcade line-up so get listening!
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/xblafancast/XBLAFancastEp16.mp3[/podcast]John Laster is out this week so Andrew Crews takes his place in the hosting chair. He’s joined by Ross Adams, Jonathan Cole and John Drawdy to talk about a ton of XBLA news that has come out over the past week. We’ve got new release dates, pricing, game announcements and a few pretty cool trailers. No one played much or any of last weeks release, Daggerdale, but we played a few other things so we talk about them a little.
Due to some technical issues we had to use the backup recording for this weeks show so apologies if the audio is a bit worse than usual.
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/XBLAFancastEp15.mp3[/podcast]Another week another almost on time podcast, as always this one is worth the wait however. We’ve got over an hour of XBLA discussion for you guys.
John and Andrew are joined by Steve Melton and Damon Fillman this week and there’s a ton of things to talk about. Forgive Damon’s quietness during the first part of the show, due to technical difficulties we unfortunately lost his audio for that portion. As usual news is up first, this past week we broke another big story this time about Alan Wake. John has to be careful what he says but the rest of the guys chime in on what they think of the idea and talk a little about retail vs XBLA in general. There’s a lot of other stuff discussed but too much to summarise, you should just listen to the show yourself. Go on, it’s right down there.
Please do subscribe to us on iTunes and review us, if you’d be so kind. We are always looking for feedback and ideas to hit us up on twitter @XBLAFans or shoot us an email.
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/XBLAFancastEp14.mp3[/podcast]Bit of an odd show this week, John and Andrew have a two man show for the usual segments. While Steve is joined by special guest Robb Rinard Creative Director at 2XL Games, who just announced they’re working on a new Jeremy McGrath game.
John and Andrew discuss the quite substantial list of recently announced XBLA games that will be heading our way in the near future. They also talk a bit about bad voice acting in games while also hitting on some of the recent releases.
Once that’s out of the way it’s onto Steve’s interview with Rob. Apologies for the spotty audio, those are just the pitfalls of recording things over the internet.
[podcast]https://xblafans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/XBLAFancastEp13.mp3[/podcast]This podcast is meant to come out on Tuesdays, we promise.
Anyway we had another delay this week due to illness and scheduling issues, but we have two special guests to make up for it. John Laster is joined by John Carson and Damon Fillman to talk about the latest XBLA news and catch up on the new releases they didn’t have the chance to cover last week.
Small correction, the guys referred to the XBLA Dead Space game as “Extraction”. The game in question is in fact called Dead Space Ignition, Extraction which is an on-rails shooter has yet to be released on XBLA.

Another late episode, we promise we aren’t planning on making a habit of this. We’ve got a pretty special episode to make up for it though! John, Andrew and Tyler are joined by very special guest Matt Davis of Barkers Crest Studio. Matt is responsible for one of the most popular games on the Xbox Live Indie games marketplace, Avatar Golf.
The guys don’t waste the opportunity to pick the brains of an Indie Game developer so we’ve got a whole hour of in depth discussion of just what it’s like to develop an Indie Game. A ton of stuff is discussed, from what Microsoft can do to help elevate the games to Matt’s upcoming game Avatar Legends.
