Bang Bang Racing coming from Digital Reality for XBLA

Digital Reality are making great leaps in the XBLA world with SkyDrift and the upcoming Sine Mora with Grasshopper Manufacture. But they got a new racing game in the works with Bang Bang Racing. The game is in the style of a classic top-down racer similar to R.C. Pro-Am. It’ll have nine locations to race in, 20 vehicles, and all different types of terrain from snow to mud to avoid throughout the races. No release date yet but check out some screenshots after the break as we keep you up to date on this promising new racing title.

Weekend Rant: Halo Anniversary

Playing through Halo Anniversary this weekend with my brother-in-law I had a very eye opening experience. After all of the PR fluff and critic reviews based more on nostalgia I found myself more critical of the quality of the updates to the original Halo: CE. I wondered why I was knocking all of these little issues I found when I was having a blast playing through a game that can still suck me in. Then it hit me: Bungie didn’t work on Anniversary, and that’s who I was comparing 343’s work against. Sure, Saber Interactive provided the new HD graphics layer and Certain Affinity developed all of the multiplayer maps, but as the primary developer 343 had the end say as to whether something qualified as Halo-worthy or not.

Fusion: Genesis review (XBLA)

Fusion: Genesis was developed by Starfire Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released November 9, 2011 for 800 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.

Fusion: Genesis certainly isn’t the first game on XBLA to put you in control of a spaceship but it is definitely the most ambitious. While it may not have the scope or freedom of a game like EVE Online it comes closer than you might expect.

After a brief tutorial area in which you are given the basics on controls and combat you are dropped into the world and allowed to go at your own pace. This means taking on missions, joining factions, mining ore and of course buying bigger, better ships. Read More

Makers of Dead Island reveal Haste for XBLA

Techland, know prominently as the makers of Dead Island have revealed their next project, and it just so happens that it’s coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Simply titled Haste, Techland is pouring their efforts into crafting an ATV racer for digital download. While there isn’t exactly a plethora of details available, sources say that the game will play similarly to Nail’d, another racing game released by Techland earlier this year. Players can expect speed, stunts, and dirt to be tearing their screens when the game releases. Read on to feast your eyes on the first four screenshots of the game, which will be published by Ubisoft sometime next year. Stay tuned to XBLAFans for more coverage of the bumpy ride that Haste promises to deliver fans in the near future.
