The The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will arrive on Xbox One on July 23, designer Edmund McMillen has announced. The game’s Afterbirth DLC will not be included, because McMillen is still working on it, but that content will “eventually make its way” to Microsoft’s next-gen console too.

Isaac‘s Xbox release has been a long time coming. The original version of the game came out way back in 2011 on PC before being remade as Rebirth and released on PC and PlayStation platforms. XBLA Fans once placed the game on our list of most anticipated titles…in 2013.

Now, thanks to some porting help from Nicalis, the developer behind last year’s 1001 Spikes, Xbox gamers will finally get access to McMillen’s critically acclaimed dungeon crawler next week.
