The critically acclaimed Metroidvania Axiom Verge will soon be making its way to Xbox One, and it has been a long time coming. On a blog post announcing the game’s release, developer Tom Happ delved into the game’s origins. While first released on PS4, it was originally intended to be an Xbox Live Indie Game. He built the game using the XNA development tools, which became unsupported by Microsoft before the game was ready to launch.

Thankfully the seven-year development journey has a happy end, because the game is finally making its way to an Xbox console. Axiom Verge will be release September 30 for $19.99. The launch will be commemorated with an introductory discount, giving 10% off for anyone who picks up the game before October 10.
