The numbers are in and Xbox 360 is doing better then ever. Microsoft released there fourth quarter fiscal earnings recently and it is clear by looking at the Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD) that Xbox 360 is doing great. This is in large part due to Kinect sales and a major increase in Xbox Live sales.

In just three months Microsoft sold 1.7 million Xbox 360 units, which is roughly 8.8% higher then last years 1.5 million. Total income for the Xbox 360 platform was roughly $1.4 billion last year (2010) and has grown to an amazing $2.7 billion this year (2011). With the launch of Kinect, Windows Phone 7 and a major push in the Xbox Live division, the EDD has seen a increase in sales of 30% for Q4 and a total increase of 45% for the year. With the 360 being the top selling console for 12 out of the last 13 months, it is easy to see why Microsoft gives most of the credit to there Xbox 360 platform for these huge number jumps.
