What we are playing: March 11
What we are playing is a weekly column that appears each weekend. Various staff members let the world know what games had them hooked the past week and which ones they look forward to.
John Laster – It’s been an amazing two weeks, but I’m ready to just go to sleep even though I want to play [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link]. It was great to meet some awesome people and play some awesome games. I really am truly blessed to work on this site with this rad team.
Perry Jackson – Other than being knee-deep in GDC news from our valiant EIC, I did manage to somehow squeeze 12 hours into [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link] and game is so excellent. Lacks the mystique of 2 but makes up for it by being more bombastic with the galactic war.
Ross Adams – Spent most of my week playing through Deep Black Reloaded (PC) for a review on another site. That’s not a good game, I’m sure I’ll elaborate on this weeks podcast. I did manage to squeeze in about 10+ hours of [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link] though, which is a good game. Looking forward to playing more over the weekend.
Todd Schlickbernd – I’ve been playing equal parts [easyazon-link asin=”B003O6C9LK” locale=”us”]SSX[/easyazon-link] and Shoot Many Robots. SSX has been incredibly fun throughout, can’t get enough of that game. I hope competition will remain strong despite Mass Effect 3 releasing. I’ll say more about SMR when it’s out.
Nathan Bowring – I got to the end of [easyazon-link asin=”B003H0CC2O” locale=”us”]Bulletstorm[/easyazon-link], reached a rather infuriating point in Warp, played some awesome custom games in [easyazon-link asin=”B002BSA20M” locale=”us”]Halo Reach[/easyazon-link], and polished off some achievements in [easyazon-link asin=”B004YVOCYG” locale=”us”]Assassin’s Creed: Revelations[/easyazon-link]. And so I’m not the odd man out: [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link]. That’s right, I said it.
Shawn Saris – Been playing lots of [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link] like every other person out there. Am looking forward to the new arcade game Defenders of Ardania though. Can’t get enough of Tower Defense games.
Nick Santangelo – I polished off the Stormcloak rebellion in [easyazon-link asin=”B004HYK956″ locale=”us”]Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim[/easyazon-link] on Sunday, and the rest of the week has been all about [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link]. The game is absolutely phenomenal; there simply isn’t enough room here to mention all of the amazing moments I’ve already experienced. The franchise has been my favorite this generation, and this final entry of the trilogy has yet to disappoint.
Matt Liparota – [easyazon-link asin=”B004FYEZMQ” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 3[/easyazon-link]. What else is there to say? Since the second I got off work Tuesday afternoon it’s all I’ve been able to think about. This game is absolutely blowing me away and I don’t think I’m even halfway through with it. Most definitely worth the wait.
