What we are playing: February 26
What we are playing is a weekly column that appears each weekend. Various staff members let the world know what games had them hooked the past week and which ones they look forward to.
John Laster – I’m going to be playing a lot of [easyazon-link asin=”B0050SW8OS” locale=”us”]Uncharted: Golden Abyss[/easyazon-link] and [easyazon-link asin=”B006WJ6YH6″ locale=”us”]Rayman Origins[/easyazon-link] on my brand new PlayStation Vita. Also picked up Super Stardust Delta and Escape Plan. So far, I am really loving this system. Oh also, I will be visiting Microsoft next week. Let me know if you have something you want brought to their attention or have any questions.
Perry Jackson – Went through the entire campaign of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and it was really good, didn’t realize how addictive (and competitive amongst the staff) Fight Till Dawn would really be. Had some nitpicks but I’ll talk about them on the podcast. Other than that, trying to get back into Warp but it’s becoming more frustrating and less fun, maybe it’ll get better.
Nick DePetris – I took advantage of the President’s Day weekend to play through [easyazon-link asin=”B001TORSII” locale=”us”]Mass Effect 2[/easyazon-link] for the first time. It’s just as good as everyone said. Fullfilling my Xbox Kinect Fans duties by spreading the Kinect love, I showed off [easyazon-link asin=”B002I0H8FK” locale=”us”]Child Of Eden[/easyazon-link], [easyazon-link asin=”B0050SYYEK” locale=”us”]Dance Central 2[/easyazon-link], [easyazon-link asin=”B002BSA298″ locale=”us”]Kinect Adventures[/easyazon-link], and [easyazon-link asin=”B002I0H9WM” locale=”us”]Your Shape Fitness Evolved[/easyazon-link] to someone who had never seen them. I also recently got a computer, so I’ve finally gotten a chance to play the charming and magnificent Psychonauts on Steam.
Ross Adams – When I haven’t been doing my best to top the leaderboards in the [easyazon-link asin=”B003O6C9LK” locale=”us”]SSX[/easyazon-link] demo, it’s been all Alan Wake’s American Nightmare this week. Loved the campaign and Fight Till Dawn has been surprisingly addictive. A lot of that has to do with trying to beat my fellow staff members scores, I’ll top that leaderboard yet!
Nathan Bowring – This week I’ve played bits and pieces of almost everything including Warp, [easyazon-link asin=”B003H0CC2O” locale=”us”]Bulletstorm[/easyazon-link], and Monkey Island 2. I spent too much time enjoying the new Gotham City Impostors DLC (love the falcon blade). Unfortunately I haven’t made enough time for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare; although I’m thoroughly enjoying it I haven’t finished the story. Also, I’m terrible at Fight Till Dawn.
Ryan Reynolds – I finally jumped on the Kinect bandwagon so I spent what little free time I had this week playing [easyazon-link asin=”B002BSA298″ locale=”us”]Kinect Adventures[/easyazon-link], [easyazon-link asin=”B0050SYXSW” locale=”us”]The Gunstringer[/easyazon-link] and Fruit Ninja Kinect. Also still trying to make my way toward the perfect ending in Mass Effect 2.
John Drawdy – This week was a good week in my gaming life, we will start with the big
one, I finally played through and beat Bastion, it was AWESOME! I picked up Warp last week and have slowly been making my way through that and played some Fight Till Dawn in Alan Wake’s American Nightmare at my buddies house, which was fun. Though what I am most excited about from this week is getting down on some four player action on Mario Kart 64. Man them were the good ‘ole days, we need something like that on the 360 and pronto!
