It’s new console day! The Xbox One X and its Scorpio Edition have both released today, November 7th, with global releases. In amongst the excitement for new consoles arriving, and disappointment with orders unfulfilled, there are, as always, some new game releases on this Tuesday. Here they are.

Assault Android Cactus

Assault Android Cactus is a twin-stick shooter, with the twist that your battery is constantly being drained. The emphasis is on quick actions and reactions, “blending the gameplay of western styled arena shooters with aspects of Japanese style bullet hell.” Assault Android Cactus is available now for $14.99.

Super Lucky’s Tale

Super Lucky’s Tale is the only first-party game to launch alongside the Xbox One X. In it, players control a cute fox in a 3D platforming world in an homage to classic platformers. Super Lucky’s Tale is available now for $29.99. We previewed the game in September, and will have a review of the full game soon.

Sonic Forces

Two new Sonic games in one year? That’s 2017. In Sonic Forces, defeat Dr. Eggman as you race through all the platforming levels at speeds only Sonic could reach. Sonic Forces is available now for $39.99.

Hitman – Game of the Year Edition

Much has happened in the world of Hitman this year; 2017 started with a physical disc release of the latest game, and partway through the year Square Enix dropped Hitman developer IO Interactive. But the Danish studio is back and releasing a Game of the Year version of its episodic game, featuring new content. As well Xbox One X enhancements, Hitman now adds new contracts and other missions. Hitman – Game of the Year Edition can be bought for $59.99.

America’s Greatest Game Shows: Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy!

Yes, that is actually the name they went with for this bundle. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy are both new releases from Ubisoft today, and you can either get them individually or as part of two-pack bundle. The games are about as you expect: recreations of the game shows. Confoundingly, the double pack would cost one cent more than buying the games individually. The versions available are:

Need for Speed Payback

The new instalment in the long-running Need for Speed series is here. Or at least the Deluxe Edition is. (The standard version releases Friday.) Need for Speed Payback brings its racing to the fictional streets of Fortune Valley. Need for Speed Payback – Deluxe Edition is available now for $79.99 (or $71.99 for EA Access subscribers).

EA Sports Bundles

In case you had been holding off on picking up your favourite EA Sports titles for the year, EA have put two bundles onto the Store today representing a slight saving, with EA Access subscribers getting a further discount on the list price. Both bundles include FIFA 18, while one combines it with NHL 18, and the other with NBA 18.
