Power up and look good doing it in Epic Quest for Pinball FX2

By  •  News

Zen Studios announced the Epic Quest DLC for Pinball FX2 earlier in the week by dropping a trailer on us, and today the developer has shed some light on what exactly gamers can expect from the add-on. Zsolt Kigyossy, managing director over at Zen, checked in over on the PlayStation Blog today to properly introduce gamers to the DLC’s hero, Max. Like all knights, it is his sworn duty “to seek out evil, defeat it, and take its stuff.” So obsessed with the concept of building XP and hoarding loot is Max, that he’ll carry everything over to the next game should he be bested by evil or “just evil-looking” beasties.

Pinball FX2 expansion set to arrive this month

Developer Zen Studios is set to release Epic Quest, an expansion to Pinball FX2, it announced today. The medieval-knight themed table, which will be available to download this month, looks to merge classic pinball with some RPG-lite tropes. It will integrate seamlessly into the Pinball FX2 platform, the developer said, and arrive bundled with a stack of new achievements. Presumably all for a price.

The trailer boasts character progression and a leveling system, but that doesn’t look to extend much beyond a crowded wardrobe. The core pinball experience seems to very much be at the heart of Epic Quest. Hit the jump for screenshots of the new table.

Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue review (XBLA DLC)

The Marvel: Vengeance and Virtue expansion pack for Pinball FX 2 was developed by Zen Studios and published by Microsoft Studios in conjunction with Marvel Comics. It was released December 14, 2011 and retails for 800 MSP. A copy was provided for retail purposes.

The Marvel: Vengeance and Virtue pack is the latest addition to the Pinball FX 2 family. This time we are treated to a four pack of Marvel superheroes, some familiar, others less so. Moon Knight is clearly the most obscure character but also manages to be the most intriguing table on offer here. Thor is rather straight forward but alsoinstantly playable and fun. The X-Men table is nice because it actually focuses on the X-men as a team and not just Wolverine. Finally the Ghost Rider table adds a dark theme to the collection and some overall interesting mechanics. It is a solid collection overall, but none of the tables truly stand out as being amazing.
