If you’ve not already spent all your points on the Fan Appreciation Sale, then you may want to take a look at this list of games rumoured to be …
In the past few years we’ve often had people ask us what Xbox Live Arcade games are worth the money, but unlike us they usually don’t shell out a lot on XBLA games each year. It makes sense, after all 1200 MSP every month or so adds up in the end. Every site has those “you should buy it” lists where games like Limbo, Braid, Castle Crashers, Bastion, and Trials HD sit, but sometimes with other games you’re still not convinced. That being said here’s list of games you shouldn’t pass up on a sale. After all, we’re all on a budget. So if you’re one of those that won’t buy it at retail price no matter how good the reviews are, take a look at this list for the best titles you can find on sale.
Beyond Good & Evil HD was originally developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, ported to XBLA by Ubisoft Shanghai and published by Ubisoft. It was released for XBLA on March 2nd 2011 and retails for 800MSP.
Beyond Good & Evil is considered by many to be a cult classic. It was well received by critics and gamers alike during the last generation of consoles. However it didn’t sell particularly well and as such the apparent sequel has been in limbo for a while.
The game tells the story of Jade, a photo journalist living on the planet of Hillys. Jade also runs an orphanage for children whose parents have gone missing during attacks from the Domz, an alien race who currently have the planet under siege. A group known as IRIS soon recruit Jade to help expose a conspiracy between the Domz and the Alpha Sections who rule Hillys.
Ubisoft Shanghai were tasked with porting the game to current-gen consoles, which in this instance also meant reworking some of the games graphics. It’s this extra work that sees the game add the ‘HD’ moniker. To sweeten the deal the game has been released for the lower price point of 800 Microsoft points (with most big releases lately costing 1200). It seems Ubisoft is trying to give this game more of a chance than it got before, but does it deserve it?
Konami has released pricing, availability, and screens for its latest shmup, Hard Corps: Uprising. We haven’t played the game yet, so we can’t really tell whether the game deserves its title. But you can find out for yourself when the game is released on XBLA February 16th for 1200 Microsoft Points.
We’ve had a Summer of Arcade and a Game Feast now it’s time for a House Party, the next promotional event Microsoft is having for Xbox Live Arcade. Beginning on February 16th with the release of Hard Corps: Uprising the promotion will include some fairly big name titles. Aside from the aforementioned Hard Corps the House Party will also include Beyond Good & Evil HD, Torchlight, Bejeweled Blitz Live and Full House Poker. A trailer has been released for Beyond Good & Evil HD in which you can see the newly revamped visuals, it certainly doesn’t look like a game that came out in 2003. Check it out below.
