Safiri Warrior revealed for Sacred Citadel
Publishers Deep Silver have revealed the first character from their side-scrolling action brawler developed by SouthEnd, Sacred Citadel. The Safiri Warrior is the toughest of the four hero classes in the game and represents the tank specializing in melee weapons. He is also the only character who can wield two-handed weapons. According to the blurb, the Warrior comes from the Safiri islands, an archipelago far to the south of Ancaria. Many hundred years ago his ancestors were known as seafarers and traders but also as savage pirates. The Safiri islanders’ religion tells them it is their duty to help the Ancarians free their land from the reign of the Ashen Empire.
More playable characters are yet to be fully announced but include the Ancarian Ranger and Khukuri Shaman. Each character will come with their own unique skill set, though all will have the ability to dual-wield two exchangeable weapons, use combo attacks and perform double jumps. Players will also be able to ride mounts, use war machines and spend his hard earned cash in towns throughout the in-game world. The game will also feature drop-in/drop-out co-op, though it is unclear whether this will be online or offline. Sacred Citadel will release on XBLA sometime in 2013.
