Just as Rock Band Blitz passed certification, it seems a release date was on the horizon for this downloadable installment of Rock Band. The game feels like a throwback to Harmonix’s PS2 gem Amplitude. We now finally have a date of August 29 for 1200 MSP. That might sound like a lot but if you have a lot of DLC from the original game, you’ll have tons of songs at your disposal. Speaking of songs, Harmonix has announced four new songs, bringing up the count to 19 in the game itself with more on the way in addition to the DLC you’ve downloaded. They are:

  • So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold
  • We Are Young by Fun
  • Sing by My Chemical Romance
  • Jungle Boogie by Kool & The Gang

Make sure to check out our PAX East preview of the game while you look forward to the release at the end of August.
