Rouguelike dungeon crawler, Necropolis, is currently undergoing a series of patches on PC to address some the shortcomings highlighted by its mixed reviews by both critics and consumers. The game launched on PC last month but it’s release was delayed on consoles until later in the year.
Speaking directly to fans on the game’s Steam page, Harebrained Schemes revealed their plans turn the game around:
“As with everything we make, the Harebrained Schemes team has scoured the player responses and critic reviews to begin the process of turning your feedback into an action plan for supporting and improving the game. We deeply appreciate all of the constructive comments we received and the thought that went into them. We know we have work to do and we’re committed to making NECROPOLIS live up to its potential.”
The first patch hit July 20 and along with a few bug fixes, set about improving the game’s vague codex system. Over the next few months Harebrained Schemes also plan to address balancing issues and introduce new enemies, weapons and armour, along with a new area and playable character.
With the Xbox One version still on the cards XBLAFans reached out and asked if the console version would launch with these fixes:
“We intend to maintain parity between the PC and console versions of Necropolis to the best of our ability but have no details to share at this time”.
There’s still no date for a console release just yet but in the meantime why not check out our PAX East preview here.
