Minecraft

Details have emerged regarding the 12th title update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, which has sold more than eight million copies since the release of the game on Xbox Live Arcade. PlayXBLA will be hosting an early look at the update over on their Twitch channel on Monday August 12 from 11 a.m. PST until noon and again from 3 p.m. PST until 4 p.m. PST.

In terms of what’s new, three new mobs have been added to the game. These are the Ocelot/Cat, the Iron Golem and the Baby Villager. In addition to the mobs, a lot of new items have also been added to the game, such as the Redstone Lamp and the Ocelot Egg Spawn. The new update also brings with it a tutorial world for beginners who might not be used to Minecraft and a new map height limit of 256 as opposed to the previous height limit of 128, giving players even more freedom in terms of creating maps within the Minecraft world.

The update will also include fixes to solve a number of issues within the popular XBLA game. These include fixes to prevent issues that relate to lighting within the game and also a fix for any structures that happen to generate at the world’s edge. These fixes will no doubt make for a smoother Minecraft experience for the player. Whilst there is no confirmed date of release for the title update yet, a more comprehensive list of changes can be found on the PlayXBLA website.
