Last week XBLA Fans reported on the rumblings concerning Comcept’s Mighty No. 9 slipping from its September 15 release date and into 2016. Now it’s official: Comcept has confirmed that the Mega Man spiritual successor isn’t releasing until next year.

Comcept says it is now targeting a Q1 2016 release date for the game. The reason is that, despite Mighty No. 9 being content complete, its creators still have a number of bugs and other issues to address.

“As we have communicated in the updates to our [Kickstarter] backers, all of the core content for the game is developed and in a complete state,” reads a statement on the game’s Kickstarter page. “However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct affect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release.”

Comcept says it is currently “working at full capacity to resolve these issues.”

This is not the first time that Mighty No. 9 has suffered a delay. The game was originally slated for an April release before being pushed to September.
