Microsoft officially reveals next Xbox to be announced May 21

Originally, Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox was rumored to be revealed at the end of April, but insiders later leaked it was being pushed back to May 21. However, all of the guessing and rumors were put to rest today. On Major Nelson’s blog, he announced, “On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment.”

The event will take place on the Xbox campus in Redmond, WA, and everyone’s invited! According to Nelson and emails sent to Xbox Live users, the reveal will be broadcast live at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. ET, 17:00 GMT) on Xbox Live, Xbox.com and, for those in the US and Canada, Spike TV.

Nelson also confirms additional information and their “full lineup of blockbuster games” will be showcased 19-days later at their pre-E3 press conference.
