Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, was recently asked via Twitter if keyboard and mouse functionality will eventually come to the Xbox One just as the Xbox 360 received the same feature years ago. His answer, limited to 140 characters, was straight and simple.
@jeffkingston Yes, we will get this done.

Another Xbox executive, Mike Ybarra, commented with added emphasis when asked about the tentative feature.
@maxpowley @XboxP3 @jeffkingston When we do it, we’ll be smart about it. Game devs will too. We all know the competitive elements.

Currently, there’s no additional information in regards to the rollout of the feature, but its probably safe to assume it will be tucked into a firmware update down the road.
