The Guardians of Middle-earth promotional train keeps on rolling as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions reveal two new characters en route to a December 5 release. Guardians of Middle-earth is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) title that pits legendary characters from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey against each other in team-based combat. The newest additions to the already hefty roster include Thrain, the exiled Dwarven warrior, and Gothmog, the master strategist.

Thrain is a melee character with a variety of ranged attacks that make him versatile, capable of tanking damage and dishing it out. Gothmog on the other hand, utilizes war machines to support his troops, draw enemy fire and control lanes. Check out the battle profile video below for all the details on these two heroes.

In addition to the ongoing battle profile videos, Warner and Monolith are bringing the uninitiated up to speed with “MOBA Mastery,” a video series designed to tackle the inner workings of this notoriously dense genre. This week marks the third entry in the series and focuses on the many character classes available in Guardians of Middle-earth, as well as the death and respawning system.
