Sonic CD was developed and published by Sega. It was released December 16, 2011 for 400 MSP. A copy was provided for review purposes.
While we’re sure some of you were raised on Sonic the Hedgehog and all his incarnations on the original Genesis, not a lot of you probably had the Sega CD. It was an addon to the Genesis that let you played CD-ROM games, something all the rage in the 90s. Not a lot of great memorable games were made for it (Hello, Night Trap) but one game that made a huge impact on the system was Sonic CD. Now almost 20 years after its release, Sonic’s classic adventure is brought back to XBLA with all new features for a smooth port.
Sonic has to save a planet chained to the world called Little Planet. Robotnik (aka Eggman) has stolen all the time stones that control time itself and it’s up to the blue hedgehog to save the day and time itself. After the recent tepid response to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, playing a classic Sonic game that a lot of people missed out on proves the character is still timeless and those who missed out on this game won’t need a $300 USD peripheral in 1993 to play it.

News has been slow on Kim Swift’s upcoming Quantum Conundrum for XBLA but we got a whopping two new screens from the game which is way more than one! One thing’s for sure, we’re excited to see more of this game next year so hit the break to catch these screenshots in action.

We posted a rumor that Renegade Ops would be seeing some DLC in the near future and it looks like that turned out to be true. Sega announced today that we’ll be seeing two new DLC packs on December 21 with one for campaign and new vehicles for the other one. In the new Coldstrike campaign, you’ll be facing off against a new villain with three new levels and new enemy types to destroy. It’ll set you back 400 MSP on its release. The new Vehicle Pack DLC will add two new heroes with Crystal using a large-force field and custom armor while Blazemo has an off-road terrain vehicle that’s great against multiple terrains so nothing stands in your path to destruction. It’ll set you back 240 MSP for both heroes and catch some new screenshots after the break of the arctic explosions.

We haven’t heard much on Bloodforge since the trailer reveal but some new screenshots emerged on their Facebook. What’s interesting to note in these screenshots is the gigantic enemies the are more than double the size of your character. One of the captions mention that the best form of attack is defense which hopefully leads to more blood being shed as you defeat these giant enemies. One thing’s for certain, we can’t wait to see this game more in action early next year. Check out the other screenshot after the break.
