We’ve spent the past week searching the internet and hounding our industry contacts in an effort to compile the ultimate 2012 XBLA Game Release List. We anticipated on heck of a year for Xbox Live Arcade. So epic we couldn’t even fit everything on one page. So without further ado, check out the list:

This classic arcade puzzler was shown at E3 last year advising that a console downloadable version would be available some time after the PC release. No further word has been given on whether this will see 2012 though.
This is the sequel to Sega’s classic Wonder Boy in Monster World and the final game in the Monster World/Wonder Boy series. It was never released in the west, but an ERSB rating was found suggesting an XBLA release. No official word from Sega but they have been keen on their XBLA remakes recently.
Minecraft is described as a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. A bit like LEGO then. Minecraft for XBLA is set to come with both Kinect and controller support. Mojang have revealed that the game is expected to be released Spring 2012.
Miner Wars 2081
Developer: Keen Software House
Miner Wars 2081 is a first-person action-survival space simulation game set in the year 2081. Player control a mining ship and can play solo or online with others on an adventure across the inner Solar System. The game centers around exploration, mining and looting but epic battles are promised too. A Q1 2012 release is expected for the PC with the XBLA release shortly after.
An intense, arena-based first person shooter, and the first of its kind to use Crytek’s CryENGINE 3. Utilizes a mutator system, with players unlocking new mutators as they progress in rank.
The first XBLA game of 2012, well for a North American audience anyway. This one has already been released on Jan 4 for 1200 MSP.
Bearing no relation to last year’s Orcs Must Die!, Orc Attack is a new beat em’ up where players control orcs and are set with the task of slaying and pillaging humans. Scheduled for a Q4 release.
ORION: Prelude is a fast-paced Sci-Fi First-Person-Shooter using the Unreal 3 engine. It promises a retro-vibe, addictive gameplay and insanely awesome features such as jetpacks, dinosaurs and vehicular combat. Developers, Spiral Games, are also promising free DLC for the first three map packs released.
