Strider coming to Xbox One and XBLA on February 19
Capcom has announced that Strider, a reboot of the side-scrolling action title originally released on the NES in 1989, will be available on February 19 on both Xbox One and the Xbox 360 for $14.99. Strider is being developed by Double Helix — the masterminds behind the successful Killer Instinct reboot on Xbox One — in conjunction with Capcom.
Alongside the announcement of the release date, Capcom revealed that two challenge modes will be available beyond the story mode. The first challenge mode is called “Beacon Run” and tests players’ speed and agility by staging checkpoints throughout the levels that challenge them to complete the game as fast as possible. The second challenge mode is called “Survival Mode” and focuses on the combat in Strider. In this mode, players battle it out with various weapons and abilities against waves of increasingly difficult enemies. The challenge modes will feature online leaderboards and will allow players to unlock new costumes for Strider.
