SEGA of America has released the second installment of their behind-the-scenes glimpse at Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, a complete re-imagining of the beloved Genesis classic. The minimentary focuses on the team in the throws of development, balancing their respect for the original with light-handed improvements through modern technology.

The teased footage screams “Disney”, something SEGA has specifically tried to inject into the offering. “Everything that Disney touches has an air of magic to it,” explained Daniel Hooley, lead designer at SEGA Studios Australia. “They try to, as a company, encompass that in all their products.”

Though we don’t have an official release date yet, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is slated to hop onto Xbox Live Arcade this summer. Hopefully this is just the first re-imagining from Disney’s vault of SEGA classics. Coupled with Capcom’s upcoming Ducktales Remastered, this summer is shaping up to be something of a second childhood.
