Peggle 2

New information has recently come to light at Gamescom in Germany about the sequel to the popular Peggle game. It was officially announced at E3 alongside Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfarealso by PopCap, but has been shown in more detail at the European convention last week at the Xbox One event.

Game Informer spoke to lead producer Jared Neuss about the sequel. Neuss says that the game will feature “new Peggle Masters” including a gothic-looking Luna as well as the return of fan favorite Bjorn. However, these Masters will now “watch whatever you do and react to it in real time” as well. For example, new Master Luna will be able to clear the screen of blue pegs, leaving only orange pegs remaining and allowing the player to dramatically increase their score.

In terms of music Neuss has said that Peggle 2 boasts “a brand new audio engine” that will adapt to your gameplay. What this means is that the closer you get to the end of a level, the more dramatic the music will become. He also mentioned that the game has been in development for a long time because of the fact that they have been fine-tuning it in order to make the sequel “absolutely perfect”.

Peggle 2 will be a launch title for the Xbox One and will be released on other platforms at some point in the future, however it is not yet known when this is and what other platforms they plan to release the game on.
