Minecraft nears ‘The End’
Are you ready for The End?
No, we’re not talking about supposed endtimes scenarios that may or may not play out and obliterate the planet before you’re able to tear open your gifts Christmas morning; when we say “The End,” we mean the stark, desolate location in Minecraft which will make its way to the Xbox 360 Version with Title Update 8.
Minecraft’s topsy-turvy alternate dimension – and its difficult boss, the Ender Dragon – will offer players a new area to explore in the 360 version of the wildly popular world-building game. However, that’s not the only new stuff coming to 360 players of the game, as Title Update 7 is also forthcoming. TU7 brings a bunch of new features to the game, which can be found after the jump.
The major additions to come with TU7, according to PlayXBLA, are:
- Animal Breeding
- Potion Brewing
- Experience Points
- Enchantment Table
- Mushroom Biome
- Nether Fortress
- New Tutorial World
- Villagers
- Mooshrooms
- Blaze
- Snow Golems
- Magma Cubes
- Baby Animals
The update will also feature the new Enchantment system and experience from mining, smelting and breeding, according to 4J Studios‘ Twitter account. 4J also reveals the addition of The End to the game is being held off until TU8 because they “have a good bit more work to to on The End, and don’t want that to hold up TU7.”
Since Minecraft‘s long-awaited release on XBLA in May, the game has been an unquestionable success, nearing 4.5 million copies sold and over one billion worlds created just a few months after release. The game is available now on XBLA for 1600 MSP, with various skin packs and other add-ons available at differing prices.
