Minecraft received a new Battle mini game this week as part of a free game update. Fans of the game will now be able to battle it out with friends in the first PVP mini game for Minecraft console editions. Challenge up to 4 players in split-screen and up to 8 players online in a fight for survival as you tussle over resources and weapons in perilous arenas.

The free update includes three base maps: Cavern, Cove or Crucible, but more map packs are on the way and are expected to be priced around $2.99.
